lol they are redefining the terms of Minsk.
I have always said that the Donetsk People's Republic is comprised of the entire former Donetsk region. We see any part that is not in our hands yet as being illegally occupied. Kharkiv isn't part of that.

Why is it that Russia can host far right/fascist summits, openly support far right and even extremist parties in Europe, and you never mention that? In fact, you always ignore it. I don't think you've once commented on this.

Yet two elected officials in a national parliament composed of hundreds gets your underoos all in a wad.

Kiev wants them to disarm and join the rank and file. protest ensued and now has backed off but the troops still surround their compound. doesn't sound like they are sitting around singing the Ukrainian National Anthem plotting the downfall of the free world, all under the domain of the US of course.

I've been thinking for the last month or so that it's likely we'll see a major renewal of action once Putin gets done showing off for the May 9th celebrations. That's Russia's major national holiday, and he's not going to see it tarnished by fighting in Ukraine at the same time. I would say that, starting about a week afterwards, we might start realistically expecting some "unforeseen" events.

The truth is the US doesn't have a monopoly on world media anymore. There are alternatives and it's all labeled as propaganda naturally.

The US has using propaganda on it's own citizens since the end of WW2 and people are starting to see that.

This is not 1988 anymore when the only exposure to media was the nightly news and newspapers.

Now we can finally take in both perspectives and not be force fed by our governments bias and their agendas. They can't hide the truth without first labeling others as propagandist.

Probably the same reason why our media doesn't discuss the atrocities committed by the Russians in this conflict: hardly anyone in America gives a damn about Ukraine or even Russia, for that matter.

when was the last time our media ran a story on Ukraine at all? Especially to the point of specific war crimes. You can kinda get a good feel of what are the "hot topics" in our media by seeing what other topics pop up in the Political Forum, and how widely participated in they are.

Throughout the entirety of this thread, there's basically only been 8 posters participate regularly to semi-regularly, which is remarkable given how many posts there are here.

Point is, most Americans don't care about this story. And our media certainly doesn't.

We're more preoccupied with police shootings (and rightfully so), domestic politics, and celebrities.

Not discounting the police issues, but I think from a global perspective what's happening in Eastern Europe is a bigger story.
