UGA collapsing

Lol they kept telling me I should stop talking football because I had no idea what I was talking about, how they own the east, they're happy with Kirby, enjoy losing to them again next season, blah, blah, blah šŸ˜‚

Attitude adjustment coming...

I predict these new young Vols are gonna rip their hearts out, like we use to.

Dude, maybe not collapse, but outlook for their offense doesn't look good. No QB, most of their starting o-line gone. Two star rb's gone. The way Kirby handled Cade's transferring is not a good look. Evans changing his mind. Coley sucks and he'll be back next season. Yes they have top recruits coming in but they lost all that experienced talent so their offense next year will be young and Coleys calling the plays. They will likely lose more games next season. In fact, I'd bet money on it.
I don't really care about what other games they lose, at this time, the only thing I care about is do they lose to UT? What's your betting sense telling you, and how much? If we don't whoop the CR** out of them next year---something is wrong.

Collapsing is probably way too strong of a description here. UGA has recruited at a very high level acrosss the board and still doing so, so they will still have talent all over the field. I don't see them just collapsing. That being said there are definite signs pointing to chinks in the armour there. I think the road to a championship for UGA under Kirby Smart is getting tougher therefore the window for Kirby is getting shorter. TN needs to seize this opportunity and strike fast and hard, take advantage of every UGA misfortune and capitalize on every Kirby Smart mistake.

We play UGA as our 10th game for the 2020 season. A lot can happen to both teams during their first 9 games, the one "intangible" factor for UGA it will be a home game. But with this collapse, almost a complete melt down, even before the season starts-if CJP can't win this one, a lot of Vols will be very disappointed.

No talent at QB on the roster and hoping and praying they get one of the two guys who have talent from the portal.

That offense is gonna be a frightening sight next season.

That's pretty easy to do when you don't have to play a good team for twelve weeks in a row and come into the playoffs with no injuries, while all your opponents are beat up from a season full of dogfights.
I get that it is exciting times for Clemson fans but that schedule makes for a season of boring football.

Not as easy as you might think to keep the players motivated to cake walk a season and not become complacent and entitled

The most impressive part of the Bama dynasty isn't the talent, it's getting talent and then leaving them on the bench for 3 years.

With the transfer portal getting more and more of an option to kids, I just don't think you can do that any more.

I don't think Georgia is falling apart. It's not rocket science. You've got 40 kids on the roster you all told were good enough to start. A lot are going to leave. Kirby knows this. He most likely just believes he can keep restocking every year and make up for the attrition. Unfortunately there isn't any evidence yet that he can't.

Now whether or not that is a better strategy than building a team through 2-3 years of development.. Time will tell. The scheme starts to fall apart when either

A. Georgia continues laying eggs every year

Or

B. Georgia stops getting kids drafted.

Georgia will always be:

East titles
Rare SEC titles
Playoff appearance

Kirby Smarts ace in the hole isn’t any one player. It’s not one of his assistants or anything he does. It’s Gus Malzahn he’s benefitted from the works of Auburn when it mattered.

If they ever get a coach who can get it all to work together they’ll be really good for a long time and nothing could stop them.

The UGA fans are reminding me of that boyfriend/girlfriend you had in high school back in the day that should have realized the downward spiral of the relationship, but kept convincing themselves that everything is ok. Then as you start the breakup process they're trying to play it strong in the driveway like, "I didnt need you anyways", "I'm a better person without you" or "Plenty of other people out there want me" kind of attitude when in reality they know its over and they're super upset about it.

Based on most of the posts on this string, I guess we can count on UGA to be our #6 powder-puff game, they'll be lucky to win 3 or 4 games at most next year. Maybe we can hang a 41-0 on them, as they did to us in 2017!
You don’t know the power of the Orange side!
Every single one of you just read that in a Darth Vader voice, didn’t you?!
GBO!!

The SEC East in 2020

1) Georgia 9-3
1) Tennessee 9-3
1) Florida 9-3
4) Kentucky 7-5
5) South Carolina 5-7
6) Missouri 4-8
7) Vanderbilt 1-11

Most times I’d agree with you but I can’t see Georgia winning it. Defense will have to carry the load and eventually they’ll wear down.

I’ll pick Florida until it’s not. Tennessee will be really tough again but I think 21 is the year.
