I firmly believe this is all about him wanting to go to a program with a better chance to compete for a championship. He lacks the patience for TN to get to that point.

Exactly. The portal, among other things, has ruined college football for me. I'm 51 and have watched 3/4 of every New Years Day bowl games for over 30 years and I didn't watch anything this year other than UT vs Purdue. I'm just can't get invested anymore and have switched over to watching pro games way more now.

To compete, you have to be competitive. Baron has never just tore it up here. Been pedestrian at best. Some will say injuries, but I've not been high on him all season.

Same here. He's in a natural progression to be the go to guy @ DE. Is he trying to get paid? Maybe the usual offenses are @ hand? I guess it makes good career sense to test the recruiting v2.0 to see what's available. I can't see an elite team taking him though. It's not like he's a superstar.
