OL is the hardest position for the recruiting sites to accurately predict out of a very few elite types. A lot of the best OL's come in with the "bones" and athleticism. You never know for sure if they can add the weight or transition to the college game.

You probably have 10 or 15 relatively sure bets. The rest of the 3* and 4* are basically in the same bag.
Because of this many OL coaches are going to cut back on HS linemen and focus on getting established linemen from the portal.
 
I think you are probably right. Good idea too.

Unfortunately JUCO IMO has been riskier than HS.
P5 teams are just going to starting buying proven linemen. It makes sense. You recruit and develop a lineman and then he leaves. If you get a player out of portal he can only leave as grad transfer, plus he is already developed to an extent. As you said it is as good idea, especially since linemen are hard to evaluate.
