Trying to Confirm

Sober

Last night was the straw that broke my back. I just cant take this pitiful display of Football anymore

I awoke from my Koolaid Koma

I'm with you brother. I like Dooley a lot...really, really wanted to see him succeed here. But 3 years is enough to tell, he's just not the guy for the job. Hate it for him, and us. Really do.

If it's been decided that firing Dooley is best, there's nothing like the present to get started finding another coach. There are going to be some terrific jobs opening up later this year. But if I were one of those top coaches, I'd do nothing until the Texas job comes open. And I think it will come open. That's the top job in the country in my opinion.

I think Hart knows this and isnt taking any chances. Hes going to move and move fast IMO

I said in a post earlier today that I think Hart tells Dooley after the SC game that his services will not be retained next year, but he doesn't actually fire him until after the Kentucky game.

This gives Hart time to get our new HC ahead of the competition and it also gives our new HC time to put a staff in place before the end of the season.

I was told by a former player who tailgates with some big donors that they have told Hart they will write the check for Dooleys buyout. This was after the Floriduh game.

A caller on Sportstalk this morning said almost the exact same thing. He said there was a former player that has agreed to pay Dooley's buyout if Hart fires him.

What Lowe said was that Hart being the athletic director prob will put out feelers given the loss to MSU...... just in case....

Lowe did not say that Hart did in fact have feelers out.

A decision may be made prior to the season ending (an announcement) confirming that decision may even be made, but no way in hell will the change be made until the regular season ends. Anyone who thinks otherwise is plain delusional.

Because?

I have to wonder how many coaches would want a job where you're expected to take a losing program and turn it completely around in a year or two or else you're fired.

Well, if I am Hart, I am making calls and having everything in place to fire Dooley and then announce his replacement in the same week so to avoid losing players and recruits. I tell Dooley pending an upset over Bama or SC to show he can beat a ranked opponent, that he is done after the Kentucky game. I would have Gruden or whoever ready to start recruiting the next day. If Tennessee goes to a bowl, let Sal coach that game. Enough is enough. I wanted Dooley to succeed but he will not. No more youth and inexperience as an excuse. This team is poorly coached and lacks leadership both on the field and on the sideline. I hoped Bray would step up his game but that hasn't happened either. Tennessee needs change and a top tier coach to bring the program back to the national prominence. If Muschamp and Mullen can do it, there is no excuse for Dooley.

Coaches are ego maniacs. Every coach out there thinks they are God's gift to football. If they have doubts in turning around a program then DO NOT APPLY.

I'm pretty sure this is why CDD had emergency hip surgery, wanted to make sure UT paid for it before he was run-off.

I've supported him for 3 yrs and this is the 1st week I'm saying it's time to move on. We were better than GA and MSU but lost both. Should've put Gators away as well when we were in control of that game! I hate it but this is ridiculous now. 1-11 in SEC since 2011. Win out or you're gone! Only thing that saves him now.

I say pay Gary Patterson from TCU what he wants and get him tomorrow!
