Does anyone remember the negative publicity UT got for firing Major's mid season?
Does anyone remember the negative publicity and poor performance from UT when Fulmer was fired during the season (we lost to wyoming)?
Whether it is right or wrong, it would be horrible publicity to do it now. I mean there are shots of the guy in an effing wheelchair. Do you know how cold that would seem to the media? They would eat that stuff up and we would look TERRIBLE. You couldn't get ESPN to shut up about it, other coaches would tell every recruit in the nation not to go to UT because they fire their coach who just had emergency surgery, and now they have done it twice. They would say, UT has no loyalty to anyone, so you don't need to send your son or daughter there. I am telling you, there is no way.
Do you guys remember the problem with Tubberville being back stabbed at Auburn? Same deal here. You want Hart to have a guy lined up, but unless that is done behind the back of the current coach, it doesn't happen. IF it is done behind the back of the coach, it makes us (again) look like total a$%hats.
Simmer down, the season will play out and we will either be much better or looking for a new coach. It is a win-win.
