Good post, Jackcrevol. After reading SF's message, and it occurred to me. We've been through this before, right? (I'm talking aloud here).
My question about passiveness in porthole, and why we arent paying the Adidas money early, was answered with logic. Dudes entering the 'hole early have known their suitors for a minute, and are desiring money. Their suitors are overpaying.
Tennessee knows what it needs, and is using analytics, conversations, and leg work to get er done. I admire that.
Also, back to we've been here before. Tennessee has a history of keeping things close to the vest, as is logical. Why let your competitor know your intent? This will drive up the price.
Additionally, more players are entering the 'hole' daily. The LB from PSU. Id say the big board we were given was the pacifier to shut us up. But the real board is a large, fluid one.
The dudes in the hole now are just seeking money. Likely very few future pros, those dudes are already locked down in deals. As far as QB, why would we pay $3M US when we even have a snowballs chance at getting Joey? Dude is everything we need, he pissed excellence at every facet of intangibles, from leadership attitude, want too. We all know second year in this system....
Ive got a feeling, always have we get Joey back. We were good enough on O to be in the Playoffs.
We needed a RB. Galvanize the line.
Get a championship defense.
I, too, have had the same gut feeling that we will have Joey back for '26.
