@Orangeslice13 I do not know the answer to this question.. Not asking out of facetiousness. Can illegal immigrants be covered under workers comp insurance? If not, isn't the homeowner responsible for the injury if someone falls and gets hurt. Again, I don't know the answer.. Just curious.

Also, I understand the point you're making; but I also have lost so many bids to GC's/EC's that have large teams of illegals working on 100's of thousands of dollars in Electrical Work and it sucks. I wish it was a perfect situation for everyone. You can't compete with those bids and keep a margin that allows you to make any profit.

Oddly enough most of your contractors at my size are running around with exemption paperwork meaning they are not covered by any workers compensation insurance. Meaning they don’t have insurance and the homeowners are not responsible either.
As far as “illegals”. That’s not what we’re talking about. Or at least everyone of the men I’m talking about all had work visas/greencards until they were revoked or not renewed for no given reason. We’re talking about men who have all paid taxes for years. They were legally here following the rules until our government decided that it’s easier to catch legal immigrants than criminals and we gotta make those numbers look good.
As far as large teams of “illegals”. That’s doesn’t mean cheaper. Not anymore. In construction the amigos make just as much as everyone else per hour. They save companies money because they’re better and faster (productivity) than their home grown counterparts. Nobody can complain about the quality of work because it still has to pass inspection. My 2 amigos were my 2 highest paid employees.

But you’re correct there’s no easy answers here. But it was broken over time so that’s how it should be fixed. Let’s let guys who’ve been here for decades, keep their green cards and focus on deporting the criminals. Ice isn’t here to investigate crime so let’s limit their role to picking up criminals as they get arrested by the actual police….and no, traffic stops are not a reason to call ice.

Said it’s not the be all, end all. Just commenting on the fact that he’s the only senator out of 100 without one. Guess I should have just said he’s a moron wrapped in 3 layers of stupid based on his interviews and left it at that. Of course that doesn’t disqualify him for the Senate either.

You led off with him not having a degree and being a plumber as if that made him less than other senators. I don’t know crap about the guy so don’t take this as any defense of him but not having a college degree doesn’t make anyone less capable of being an intelligent person or a complete dumbazz.

How many times does it have to be explained to them that ICE doesn't require a "judicial warrant"?

ICE isn't lying, all it takes is an Administrative warrant and it is clear, she overstayed her visa and violated the law.

They still require a judicial warrant to walk on job sites and start asking for ID. If all they have is an administrative warrant they do not have probable cause to ID anyone or enter a residence……that’s not the listed address of the person they are looking for. And even then it’s questionable.
I was on a job site this week (not mine) where the other contractor put his immigration attorney on speaker phone and threw the shitbags off the job site for trespassing.

Ice needs to be transportation only. All arrests should be made by the police. It was amazing to watch these ice nitwits either be straight up liars or just completely ignorant of the law.

Not only did they lie about what happened, it took the public nearly a year to find out ICE killed this kid. They left us in the dark

They didn't need a judicial warrant in this case....they knew she was illegal and was actually tracking her and arrested her for her violation.

Again, they only needed an admin warrant which proved she overstayed her visa, which she did; Some politician trying to score political points don't override the actual law
