It’s time for construction guys to put an end to this ****!!!
We’re not building anything until it’s fixed. Not roads, not infrastructure, not bridges, no electric grid infrastructure. Gas and water are shut down……..not a ****ing thing that belongs to the government until they start acting of the people, by the people, for the people, instead of just running us the **** over.

They raided roofing companies in Chattanooga today.
Not tomato pickers…..roofers. Do yall really think that is a low skill job. Let’s take the unemployment and put them on the roofs. What could possibly go wrong.

@Orangeslice13 I do not know the answer to this question.. Not asking out of facetiousness. Can illegal immigrants be covered under workers comp insurance? If not, isn't the homeowner responsible for the injury if someone falls and gets hurt. Again, I don't know the answer.. Just curious.

Also, I understand the point you're making; but I also have lost so many bids to GC's/EC's that have large teams of illegals working on 100's of thousands of dollars in Electrical Work and it sucks. I wish it was a perfect situation for everyone. You can't compete with those bids and keep a margin that allows you to make any profit.

Oddly enough most of your contractors at my size are running around with exemption paperwork meaning they are not covered by any workers compensation insurance. Meaning they don’t have insurance and the homeowners are not responsible either.
As far as “illegals”. That’s not what we’re talking about. Or at least everyone of the men I’m talking about all had work visas/greencards until they were revoked or not renewed for no given reason. We’re talking about men who have all paid taxes for years. They were legally here following the rules until our government decided that it’s easier to catch legal immigrants than criminals and we gotta make those numbers look good.
As far as large teams of “illegals”. That’s doesn’t mean cheaper. Not anymore. In construction the amigos make just as much as everyone else per hour. They save companies money because they’re better and faster (productivity) than their home grown counterparts. Nobody can complain about the quality of work because it still has to pass inspection. My 2 amigos were my 2 highest paid employees.

But you’re correct there’s no easy answers here. But it was broken over time so that’s how it should be fixed. Let’s let guys who’ve been here for decades, keep their green cards and focus on deporting the criminals. Ice isn’t here to investigate crime so let’s limit their role to picking up criminals as they get arrested by the actual police….and no, traffic stops are not a reason to call ice.
