The Buddhist I know say they do “worship” the Buddha but not as a god but in reference and thanks for the teachings.
I believe if I google “do people worship the Buddha “ I’d get a similar answer but if I’m reading you correctly your point is that he….and the others …..we’re not worshiped as gods.
