Too much ice

You miss the point...you take away QI those officers can be sued civilly for ANY action, whether it's deemed legal or not..

I pull over Karen for going 75 in a 55, and I write her a ticket for speeding, her lawyer sues me directly not because I did anything wrong or illegal or unconstitutional, but because me pulling her over kept her from making a job interview so she is suing me personally for 175k or what her salary would've been. The threshold for civil suits are much lower than other suits, so my options are:

- Agree to drop the ticket and never pull her over again
- Use 20k$ of my money to defend myself in court and hope it gets dismissed
- Use 20k$ of my money and some lunatic judge or jury feels bad for her so now put on another $200k

This would happen with EVERY SINGLE arrest or ticket by any LEO in any situation, because there is no penalty to try it by defendants and lawyers
Presently cases don’t make it to court because the lawyers wouldn’t win and it would damage their reputation, but if you remove QI lawyers would suddenly stop caring about their reputation and bring frivolous suits on every arrest or ticket?

Absolutely because the ambulance chasing ones would have nothing to lose - See Ben Crump....you call every police action racist and unconstitutional whether it is or not and convince families to sue and sue and all you have to do is win 1 to make $25 million or force people to settle who can't afford to fight

It’s pretty clear what the point was if you read. He made a comparison to rittenhouse. This guy was within in his rights and ICE has no jurisdiction over him. What’s hard to understand?
what does jurisdiction have to do with anything in this case? Law enforcement has a right to be concerned if a gun is present. You might be right that he was legally in possession, but if he brandished it or threatened them in any way, then he is a ****ing idiot.

100% agree. I remember a few years ago PD in Lebanon raided a house with a warrant and killed the resident, they had the wrong house. Someone should have went to prison but nothing happened.
Many would argue lack of accountability is the surest sign of an enterprise in decline. It usually starts financially and runs downhill from there.

The sad part is all the poor dupes convinced it's only "the other side" that needs the scrutiny.

It has everything to do with it if he was being illegally detained. He didn’t brandish it. There’s video evidence of an agent pulling it out of his back waistband while on the ground. His hands were visible and never at his waist. Being an idiot doesn’t mean you get executed

Do you think all the video is out? Have we heard what the guy said to the officer when he was resisting arrest? Again I will withhold judgement until all the facts are out. You however have already formed an opinion without all the facts and will alter facts as they come out to fit your opinion.

The press conference with law enforcement said it was a defensive shot and the officer feared for his and his fellow officers safety. Guess we will have to wait and see.

I would love to be proven wrong and yes I’ve formed my opinion from available video. I also freely admit that I automatically dismiss LE press conferences as cover my ass BS.

Oh, and the comparison to Rittenhouse was moronic

Because there 🐂💩 questions.
Oh they are fantastic questions. That’s why she’s getting pissed on getting called on her blatant lies and misinformation.

Noem is incompetent and I wouldn’t vote for her for dog catcher

….

Ok she should be barred from ever being allowed on a ballot for dog catcher anywhere in the world.

Do we know if LE shot this guy? Could he have shot himself while wrestling for his gun? I can’t see any agents with guns drawn in the only video I have seen.

Anybody have a clearer view?

I simply can’t tell who fired the weapon.
Amazing isn’t it that with body cams and dozens of people filming, people still can’t agree on what happened. People see what they want to see. Same as it ever was

Showing up where law enforcement is working while lawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition does not mean one is there to instigate violence, Kristie.

Carrying a gun and ammo is not violent resistance.

Even if he did try to stop the law enforcement efforts, if he didn’t do it using a firearm, he should have been arrested, not shot.

Most interesting to me is that Norm has not yet stated that the decedent used, or threatened use of, the weapon in any form or fashion.

That omission, by itself, gives me great pause at this stage. So far, it sure doesn’t look like a good shoot.
