Too much ice

My best subcontractor has been here 20 years. His daughter is a US citizen. He pays taxes. He has an efin and I issue him a 1099 every year. His paperwork ran out a while back. So has his wife’s. She’s staying here but he’s headed back to Mexico. I’ve already started working on help her with her status. Once that’s resolved I’m going to help him get his sorted out so he can return. His cousin who I also sub too has a similar situation with 2 children that are citizens. He’s already in Mexico and we’ve fold his paperwork and are waiting on a response.

I guess I could go waste time protesting instead of actually trying to make a difference.

Good on you slice. Putting action that matters together, while the protesters and the idiots on here that support them are doing absolutely nothing but complaining. A contractor we work with just had a Venezuelan get caught for driving a vehicle with tags registered to another one. Once ICE got him, they found out his work visa had expired (which was his own fault as well as the tag issue). He was planning on returning to Venezuela permanently in March anyway since Maduro is gone. He appreciated the help, but said he wanted to go back home and was just returning a little earlier than he expected and it doesn't cost him anything since they're deporting him. We had a good laugh and let him know if ever wants to come back and work here and stay, we'd be happy to help.

I will always respect ACTUAL immigrants trying to do things the right way

Worst experience of my life was holding a drunk confused man at gunpoint begging him to not make me shoot him.

People advocating for arming up against ice or any other police force have no idea what it will take to shoot someone.

And protesting is a huge waste of time. If they want to make a real difference then help someone get their green card and fight against this perceived illegal activity by the police in court. They could also call their congressman/or visit them, to seek immigration reform
Don’t these people even work
I bet the vast majority of agitators dont

It's a mix...some are retired boomers with nothing to do thinking they still are in the 1960s, some are homeless/felons/mentally ill who are either taking money from NGOs or looking to commit crimes for fun, and some are younger stay at home affluent white moms who want to feel like they have power and virtue on social media for their friends

I am talking the agitators
They are the ones who I have a problem with

LOL no it couldn't have
Sure it can. These people didn't kill themselves

Notable Incidents
  • Joseph Ahr (2020): A New Jersey man died 18 days after a Trenton police officer pepper-sprayed him during a 2020 arrest. A grand jury indicted the officer, alleging the use of force was "unnecessary and contrary to his training". The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide, citing "acute respiratory failure following the use of pepper spray".
  • Jamel Floyd (2020): An inmate at the federal Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn died after being pepper-sprayed by prison guards in his cell. His family alleged the use of force was excessive.
  • Othel Moore Jr. (2023): A detainee died after being pepper-sprayed, placed in a restraint device ("The Wrap"), and left unmonitored despite stating he could not breathe.

Medical and Legal Context
  • Causes of Death: In cases where fatalities occur after pepper spray use, the cause is often cited as asphyxia, bronchospasm, or cardiac arrest, particularly if the individual was already struggling to breathe, possessed a pre-existing respiratory condition, or was under the influence of drugs.
  • Liability: While pepper spray is a standard tool, excessive use or improper application (e.g., in enclosed spaces or on individuals already restrained) can lead to criminal charges against officers or large settlements for wrongful death, such as a $8.5 million settlement paid by Pennsylvania Corrections.
  • Risks: Research indicates that while not directly fatal in all cases, the compound can be lethal when combined with positional asphyxia, where a person is held in a way that limits their ability to breathe, such as being face-down.

No sir. If restrained, there is no need to force compliance because compliance is compulsory at that point.

OK then make a pretty good articulable case for shooting LEO officers while they are attempting to detain or arrest you and see what happens I guess?

And there has always been cases of "fake" police officer criminals robbing drug dealers, or carjacking people back to the 1920s, it's just very few and far between because the risk isn't worth the reward in most cases

A jury of your peers. Even a federal trial would be held in the area of the shooting.

lol It actually does.

Your logic would make Communism/Marxism right-wing.

That doesn't follow. The Bolsheviks, Marxist communists, purged those who weren't Marxist communist. They didn't purge Marxist communists as policy. If the Nazis were really socialists then why did they purge all socialists as policy (and later sent them to the camps)? It's because they weren't really socialists.
Again, it was a centralized, gov't-controlled economy, with gov't-controlled production, prices and wages.
And capitalists. Where / who / what were Russia's Krupp et al?
