Tony Elliott Appears To Be a Target

Well facts aren’t welcome here.
Some could say Bama didn’t play anyone until the playoffs. Florida lol. Texas A&M best win was that overrated UF team

No kidding. The SEC is usually Bama, 1 or 2 very good teams, and a bunch of mediocre teams. Clemson just shreds every SEC team they play lately except LSU in 2020. They averaged 40ppg vs. Bama in those NC games. It took the best SEC offense of all time to finally out score them last year.

I don’t know if Elliott is the answer, but his conference schedule isn’t a concern.

We’re hiring him to be HC, not OC. That’s always a hard thing to predict

They are 10-1 vs the SEC in the regular season in recent years and 2-0 vs Alabama in the NCAA title game in the last 4 years.
It’s still easier for Clemson to go through the ACC than the SEC. you can’t deny that. 10-1 is almost all against SC and nice cherry pick against Bama. They also got hammered by LSU and Ohio St who got hammered by Bama. Clemson is a great program but I have no idea what point you were trying to make with those stats. The ACC is easier than the SEC, even when the SEC is down.

The guy has “reportedly” turned down several NFL job offers. He runs a really good offense. He is young, and comes from Clemson.....not Bama.

Who knows if it would work out or not......but “if” it happens.....seems like a pretty big hire.

I mean have you seen this 3-7, NCAA violatin, no developin, players leavin.......dumpster fire?

I’m down!

I don’t agree. The SEC unbalanced scheduling makes any comparison difficult. The SEC is usually very top heavy- Bama makes it the best conference

Interesting. I’m listening. Bama and Clemson we will call a scratch. Keep going. The SEC was down this year so the ACC likely stacked up better but if you look over the, say, 4 years since you mentioned that timeframe who lines up with UGA, UF, LSU, Auburn, and A&M? The ACC doesn’t have that quality depth in my opinion even though Clemson and Bama are similar.

Welp, I just started a thread asking White to not do this. If this is true...Welcome Coach Elliott!!!

So you'd take 60+ year old Steele, worst head coach in decades at Baylor, and a life long defensive guy, over the top young OC in college football?
That had Trevor Lawerence and stacks of 5* as talent. No where near enough data points in Elliot to know if he would be a good coach at UT. We can’t afford any uncertainty in this decision.

The ACC was hot garbage this year.......0-6 in bowl games.....Clemson is first rate year in and year out.....the rest of the conference are weak sisters
