Follow the money my dudes. Not hanging around known is the only way some of these players have a chance at being eligible in 21...
I agree with your inference that the better players are probably the ones who took money; however, if hard evidence comes out that any of these players were taking improper benefits they will not be eligible to play again, regardless if they transferred to a different school.

You would think they would at least see who the new coach is before they leave. Guess playing for the school doesn’t mean much to them

Really have a hard time getting bent out of shape over a 3-7 roster, where most of the losses were blowouts, losing players. So long.
I did not get to watch the Texas AM game on tv but listened on the radio. Near the end of the game Tim Priest kept talking about how slow TN's defense was compared to AM's offence. TN's defense could not get to the outside fast enough to keep AM's running backs from turning the corner and head upfield.

Henry T is giving himself an option . I understand that so if we hire well he will be back. If not wish him and the rest good health. But this had to happen. The extensive amount of cheating that happened and the amount of individuals who knew to many tentacles. We had no choice to go ahead and pull plug and crash and truly begin rebuild because now we are at the bottom. In CHRIST Alone.

There is far more red tape the further away you get.

What gives you that feeling?
Just deductive reasoning. I don’t know it to be fact by any means. But they were all in the same recruiting class. All recruited by Neidermeyer (I believe). Toto parents apparently in this week to meet with compliance. Just my guess.

OK, hold on a minute. Please tell me you’re not implying that if they find hard evidence that any of our players took improper benefits that they will be eligible to play college football next season. I have read some very misguided things on this board, but that may be one of the most out of touch comments that I think I’ve ever read. I assure you that if they find hard evidence of improper benefits that transferring to another school, especially within the SEC, will not exempt them from ncaa rules. We’re not talking about red tape here. We’re talking about SERIOUS violations. When some of this stuff comes out you’re going to be blown away.

This was going to happen no matter what. This isn't Kevin Steele's fault. I think many Vol fans still don't realize Tennessee is in a heap of shite with the NCAA (some of these transferring players probably wrapped up in that).

Also, these are the same players that went 3-7.

This should be the final nail in the coffin for any fan who says "give the coach time". It does nothing but ruin a program for much longer than it has to.

SEC East basement here we come again. It's not like we're used to it by now.

What do you mean "here we come"? We were already permanent residents there since 2010. Occasionally we sublet it out to Vandy, but we OWN the basement.

If by "idiot fan base" you mean "Phillip Fulmer" then I right there with ya.

Throw him in the pile too, but no. It was our idiot fan base that initially created the toxic situation that turned away every Coach w/options, opened the door for a supremely unqualified AD, and led to a hire that was on nobody's radar at the start of the process.

But 110% w/you that Fulmer's failed leadership during this crisis, the uncertainty for months and then sudden haphazardness of how the terminations were handled (as well as the failure of institutional control) is on him as the guy at the top of the Athletics Dept.

The head coach who is hired in December should at the very least get six seasons to get the football program on the right track.

Not knocking the kids that plan on leaving but have major respect for the kids that stay and honor their commitment. Just saying.

Oh and whose name was mentioned in Grand Jury Testimony that he had witnessed Sandusky molesting young boys and said or did nothing. No thank you.

If you really think there's something here, than that's a 100% valid reason, but do your homework first.

The entirety of that was an Asst. Coach who had never worked w/Schiano several years later saying he had heard it from someone else, who said they saw something, so third-person heresay. The Coach who he said he heard it from denied it, as did the Schiano himself, was investigated by PSU, the PA Atty General's office, and OSU and every one of them said nothing there. It's like the Kavanaugh accusation but w/even less proof.

The Schiano outrage was NEVER about PSU. It was an idiot fan base that thought they'd get Jon Gruden (who would've been a crap choice incidentally) and was upset that they were getting some Yankee coordinator from the Big10, so they trashed his character and damaged his career. And every other Coach with options saw that and wanted to no part, so we ended up with a guy that would never of even gotten an interview at the start of the process.

I hate it. I F'n HATE it, but the Tennessee fan base is now reaping exactly what we sewed.

Upon learning that we were handing out thousands of dollars of cash to our players, could these be players who were enticed with cash to come here, and when the cash was cut off, transfer to another program who will pay them?
Pruitt paid them to come here in the first place. The spigot just got shut off. They’re likely looking for a new sugar-daddy that can keep the $$$ flowing ‘cause it sure as hell ain’t gonna be The Big Orange ( at least not for a while). That said, before we get all weepy-eyed let’s remember these players led us to a 3-7 season with some of the worst blowouts in Tennessee history. I wish them well and I’m thinking a fresh start is appropriate.

Departures don't matter anymore. We just need to make the right hires and start the rebuild with what's left. Those kids are the ones that really want to be here. They'll be the ones that establish the new culture.

Wouldn't it be something if the kids transferring are found to have taken money and ruled ineligible?

You’re just flat out wrong. I do not want to see that man’s face every Saturday as a representation of something that we love so much. Every time I see, hear, or think about him all I can think about is the tragedy that took place at Penn state. He was too close to the fire in that situation and that is the only reason but I did not want him at Tennessee. And there are a LOT of people that feel the same way that I do.
