'26 TN WR Tyreek King (Tennessee commit)

Still it takes a relationship and Pope owns that. This kid went out his way to say UT's culture was a major reason for him shutting down his recruitment. Pope is part of that whether folks want to admit it or not.

Also, I never understand why a local kid is viewed as automatic, especially in the NIl environment of today. With the influx of people into the state, just because they live here does not mean that rhe state school is a slam dunk. It still requires recruiting effort is my point.
You’d think folks world learn from Harrison Smith, Tee Higgins, and Amari Rodgers. Many kids see going to college in their backyard as undesirable. I know I wanted to get a few hours away when I was choosing a school.

I guess it was common knowledge because it got the same ole tired unimaginative responses from the same posters. Some of us actually have lives and don’t live on this forum.

Same for Osenda…

I do think the other services will catch up on Osenda…and 247 will eventually pull their heads out of their butts on King
I think recruiting services often don’t have a clue, but yes, they often just follow what the others do so as not to look like an outlier.

Why does that one matter? Jermod wasn't even rated a top-100 transfer or top-10 corner transfer

Not a big believer in rank and file service rankings anytime, but trust college film more than HS film. No-brainers are easy pickings, after that, not so much. Looking forward to post NFL draft for HS star distribution trends. Draft picks I have more confidence in.

That’s fair but generally speaking draft selections reflect star rating. A lot of 3 stars gets drafted but there’s also around 800-900 of them. High school players are more raw so they won’t all hit obviously, but the rankings are supposed to reflect the draft.

Transfers are a lot more certain as you said, but there’s only so many high impact ones and whatever outlet ranks transfers are hit or miss bc the players aren’t in a vacuum like high school and nobody has the time to watch 1,000 portalers in two weeks

Not a few but a LOT of 4* get passed by 3* each draft. There are enough 4-5 stars to fill every slot but I BELIEVE last cycle half got passed. Maybe more 3* than 4*. Evaluating 21 yo completing normal maturation has to be easier than 17-18 yo when early vs late development skews the deal. Early targeted 3* by our staff are good by me for being within the margin of error with MOST 4*. Less confident in late/fallback guys, but won’t throw them under the bus and wail in misery on signing day.
