'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

How is this Curries fault? Get a grip man. That statistics of firing a coach mid season is detrimental to the kids currently committed and it leaves a bad taste in prospective coaches mouths.

Fire currie and the Dumpster fire yall talk about really goes crazy. Sets us back decades. Let the man work. Damn

^This. So we fire our AD and coach at the same time! Recipe for success right there! Recruits will flock like moths to that ****flame!

I will defect to Bama if Butch is still the coach next year.

I considered it, but with my luck, Saban would just retire. Not sure who I'd begin following if I left the Vols. TCU plays entertaining football. Like Stanfords smash mouth, hard nosed style. Interesting notion.

Cade an early enrollee?

Yes. He wants to sign during the early signing period and enroll early at the school of his choice. I'm sure the other programs are explaining to him the challenge Tennessee will have hiring a new HC coach, hiring a new OC, and hiring a new OL coach; prior to the early signing period...around 45 days away. He obviously loves Tennessee, but my guess is that he and his family are looking at his recruitment as a business decision now. He has some of the top college football coaches in his ear now, probably telling him that he can't afford to wait around while Tennessee figures out what it's going to do to revitalize the program.

So you said no way Cade plays for the Vols

You believe that even with a solid coaching hire right after the Vandy game?

Given his comment about a national title, I don't think it matters who we hire. We are light years from being at that level. No way any coach flips this roster and has it at that level in 3-4 years. Huge leap of faith on Cade's part to imagine that being possible for UT. Safe play is Clemson. They're on a roll. Dabo is solid. Clemson won't be beating the hell out of dads alma mater like UGA would. It's really his best move under the circumstances.

How can someone just switch to bama? Did you go to bama? Ever live in bama? Why chase the flavor of the decade? Once Saban leaves would you be crawling back?

Just a few questions to consider.

I will calmly say I wish him the best and UT football is MUCH bigger than a single recruit...I don't think the Vols are out of the picture AT ALL...I know Trey Smith will be sorely disappointed if he goes elsewhere because Cade was as instrumental in landing Trey as anyone...let this play out and wish him the best.....

Yes. Cade wants to win, and there are influences in both Clemson and UGA that are too strong for a coach to pull him back this late. Cade decomitting is Cade being done as a chance for UT.
