TN Commit David Oku

Brown is better than Giles. So i think Oku would have a harder time passing BB on the depth chart.

He doesn't have to pass him on the depth chart. Auburn had two backs drafted in the first round who were in the same class. And UT had Jamal Lewis and Travis Henry at the same time - both ended up being Pro Bowl NFL backs.

very true, but on the bad side of that I could see BB pitching a T.O. sized hissy fit if he had to share the ball.

I heard Hubbs on the talk show today say that he didnt feel to good about us getting Oku. He said that Nebraska has came back into the picture and feels that he will go there.

the same thing from a diffent, not so reliable,

That's strange, because everyone else I have heard has said that Nebraska isn't a real player at all.

EDIT: From Hubbs this morning:

Oku and the Vols coaching staff have continued to talk, but no one seems to have a feel for what Oku is going to do.

You must have heard wrong, Troll.

Who is Miami's running backs coach? Has he been there for a while? Who all has he put into the NFL?

You know having Eddie Gran and the backs that he has coached into the NFL has to give both of them a positive about coming here and playing for us.

This is what's hard for me to understand with the Auburn choice for Oku. Surely, he realizes that the reason they have so many RB's ahead of him there is that Gran recruited them. Well, he's at UT now, Oku.

no offense to Oku, but if Bryce Brown came to UT, I seriously doubt he would be splitting much, if any, time with Oku...

Oku looks like a special teamer/3rd down back

Bryce Brown is not coming to UT.

You might want to be a little less definitive with those types of statements. He hasn't visited yet and the key strength of UT's staff as recruiters seems to be selling kids who were strong leans or commits elsewhere. He's more available than that.

Didn't you make a few definitive statements like that before NSD that turned out to be false? If you keep it up... someone's going to start calling you on it.

Yea, that isn't really going out on a limb or anything, but unless you are positive then I wouldn't put stuff like that. And if you are positive then you should elaborate.

Actually he is on campus now. And no. I made no statements prior to NSD that proved to be false. Might want to do some research before calling someone out.

I have listed my reasons for Brown not coming here for several months. I don't feel any compulsion to repeat them. Look it up if it is so interesting to you.

I have to agree with Sab

I don't think so either; however, it was a hypothetical situation.

And you are right in ways that you don't realize. My statement was directed more toward all of the people that are convinced Bryce Brown is what is keeping Oku from committing. I don't think this is the case at all. There are other much less obvious reasons behind Oku's situation.
The coaches have been in firefighting mode since the Auburn visit and how quickly and thoroughly they put out those fires will determine where Oku goes. I have enough faith in this coaching staff to believe that they will get it done.

I have no idea where either of these kids will land but can certainly appreciate someone stating a probability. but when the kid hasn't visited or signed you can't make sweeping conclusions unless you are that kid or someone close to them.

regardless of what reliable source you have... they can be wrong. add to that clk's play with Nuke and you just can't spit out definitive statements.

I can, I did, and I will continue to. But I am honored that you have taken a long enough break from your O-line freakouts to give criticism to my posts.
