Agreed.
Hardesty is a senior that is so fragile that he gets injured if you look at him wrong.
Creer hasn't proved anything, AND he's a junior. Regardless of whether he ever amounts to anything or not, we still need at least one stud running back in our freshman or sophomore classes. We don't have any in either one of those classes right now.
Poole is a total non-factor.
I am just as frustrated as the next person with Oku. But why in the heck would you pull a kid's scholly because he is extending his college decision a few extra weeks?
As I said, it is frustrating, but don't let it get to you too much.
I think it is sad that a kid from next year's class has already said his decision will probably go past NSD. (Joyner, I think) I mean that it ridiculous!
I cannot agree with you more!
I will not be suprised if the NCAA steps in and makes some changes that will mandate signing on a specific date... actually I hope they do.
This process is fine with both Oku and Brown.
Personally, I think a lot more players may sign later in the years ahead. Some teams don't even know who their HC will be this fall. In some ways, it makes a lot of sense from some recruit's perspectives. They basically can get a lot clearer picture of who signed with whom and who is coaching where. On the flip side, players like these guys help improve a class if they sign early.
Each recruit has to do it his way. That's their right and what we really want are the best players who want to be at UT. Taking a longer period of time to decide does not mean they will be any less committed than anyone else. These guys are thinking about this as a career decision and that's what it is. Moreover, we want players who will be professional athletes. This just comes with the turf.
In Brown's case, if he had signed early, it wouldn't have been with UT. The delay is what has given us a chance.
I'd like to see both of these guys in Orange and I really see both getting plenty of playing time to prove their worth to the League.
I agree with your posts but how far do think that the NCAA will allow this extended time period to continue?
I see your side on a player making the absolute best decision for himself but if every kid in the top 100 - 150 starts doing this it could turn into a complete nightmare every year.
