TN Commit David Oku

with all of this non-sense I can guess we have no idea what Oku is thinking

Sab is up-to-date on the situation - and I asked for today's update but he never responded to it - he was preoccupied trying to make fun of bass fishing and bass guitar players in his posts.

Since Oku is not committing I believe he wants to come to Tennessee but only if Brown commits elsewhere. Wouldn't be the first - see recent posts about Jevan Snead upon finding out Florida was recruitng Tebow.

I hope this is whats going on. If Oku would have commited on the Feb 4 BB wouldn't be looking our direction. I don't know whats going on, I just hope we get one of them.

This goes on at every school,..it's just part of the chess game they play. But, someone has to make the first move.

I don't like either one of their off the field antics. I would prefer they sign Brown if they had to sign one of the two. I'm just iffy because of the attitude of both these guys. Plus, I think we are comfortably deep at the rb position anyhow...

well BB set the announcement date already i believe its either march 12 or 13 so if oku waits until then we will know why

IMO, I definitely think Oku is waiting to see what Brown does. Can't really blame him considering Brown is rated the #1 player in the nation. If Auburn or Syracuse were leading for Okus services over UT, I believe he would have already signed with one of them. I don't know if he will hold out until Brown announces on March 12th or not. My guess is, the coaches will probably have a good idea after Browns visit this weekend what our chances are with him. I look for Oku to announce a decision sometime next week. However, he could wait until after March 12th. He has until April 1, so there probably isn't any big hurry on his part.

You're insane. RB is definitely a position of need.

i would like to think that oku is waiting on brown, and i would agree that that's probable. having said that, obviously i want brown more, but it wouldnt hurt to have oku either haha. things will be a little easier to forsee after brown's visit this weekend, but if he likes it, we may wnd up having to wait till march 12 to know about either of the two. that would kinda suck, but sure would be interesting, and its obviously a goos thing that we will probably get one of the two. does bryce brown start next year if we get him?

I wish CLK would call Oku or his "mentard" and tell him his services would not be needed or wanted at UTK...

What difference will a month make? These guys won't be on campus until the summer anyway and CLK has already put the team on notice that the new recruits will have the opportunity compete for positions once they arrive.

I agree.

I was just watching film of Brown and man he runs just like Reggie Bush..He has nasty cutback moves and has some serious break away speed...Yeah, He would be perfect to build a offense around.
