Things I'm mad about today

Sure, but it’s almost impossible to separate legit concerns from things that have been described as legit but are in fact false (deliberate or accidental; lies vs. erroneous.)

When people go with what Dr Social Media recommends, rather than what their personal doctor has to say after discussing what they’ve heard, I have a hard time crediting these beliefs as legit. What then are the legitimate grounds for these concerns? Why do people choose to believe some sources, but not others?

If we rely on US medicine (the people) to keep us alive when we get sick, why wouldn’t we rely on their advice on how to avoid getting sick? That hurts my brain. (The illogic does, not refusing medical guidance. That just hurts my heart.)
I mean in general, nothing to do with social media, because his Chinese bot statement can be linked directly to the same "Trumpers won't take the shot" social media posts. I mean nothing towards him about that, it's just facts I see every day. It comes from people can't accept someone having a legit concern, so they blame it on their politics. Some have legit concerns based on actual real news, science, and Drs, that I could post links to credible news for. Just an example, the blood clots, that's literally been reported in some instances, and by actual news, not right wing conspiracy stuff. I'm not meaning to sound smart, I promise, but that one scares me. For a year and a half it hasn't effected me, and I've been around it plenty. If you get a blood clot, it may be a non issue, just take blood thinner, and you'll be okay. If I get one, I'm up the creek, I can't take them. I can't even take a baby aspirin, one single pill triggers an asthma attack. I don't know that the vaccine would cause me to have one, I just know it has some people. I also know if it does in me, then there's nothing I can do about it. That legitimately scares me as much as getting corona. It may be stupid to all of you, but it's not me, because it's my health. It just gets annoying when you try to voice a concern, and people are so caught up in their political stance, that they refuse to listen, and automatically respond with something about politics, or you must've read the wrong things on social media. For me, that one thing is enough to cause me concern. I'm not saying it's fake, that I can't get it, or that it won't kill me. I'm saying so far it hasn't, and now people want to force me to take a risk I'm very uncomfortable with. Again, not trying to sound hateful or anything, but that's where my mind is, and it's just silly that people can't see past politics or social media to understand that

Ok, I get that. Yes, the blood clotting risk (J&J and AstraZeneca) spooks the hell out of me too. And especially for you, as I guess you’re allergic to blood thinners? Or they trigger asthma (much the same thing.) The risk of blood clots from Covid is higher. That scares me more. And there is no association with blood clots for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. I know it’s aggravating to be accused of not thinking for yourself (it aggravates me too, as I get it in the opposite direction.) It’s just breaking my heart to see so much death.

—Sorry, Joe. Please disregard. I didn’t mean to offend. I’m scared for people. Too many healthy people getting so sick. It’s getting to me.

I agree. Have a friend/coworker in bad shape right now, and he has heart issues already. in-laws have it, but doing fair. Another friend at work just lost his dad to it, who used to work with us. The thought of getting it is scary, just some of us sincerely have other fears, and are stuck in the middle of what to do. It's just started to get to me when 99% of people automatically dismiss a concern, and immediately make your thoughts about politics, or social media. I can promise you concerning me, there's not a politician on either side that I think enough of to give much of a care what they think about it. Anyway, shouldn't have said anything, and I try not to.

Jimminy Cricket! I was perturbed that Chinese bots were extremely active in US socmed spreading their Chinese handlers’ version of disinformation. On cue, y’all side bar into the domestic politics of Covid and vaccines. You couldn’t simply express your own ire at the level of Chinese activity and its disruptive purpose.

Ok, Zoners. The documented higher costs of care for the unvaccinated is going to be reflected in future healthcare plan premiums and healthcare costs. It’s inevitable, even if the “socialist” Democrats borrow money to bail out the healthcare sector.

Already, healthcare plans have begun to add additional premium for the unvaccinated. To the industry, it’s like smoking - higher risk, documented higher costs.

If you’re not perturbed by this, you should be planning for higher healthcare costs in your household budgets all the same. Even if you’re vaccinated, prices are going up for everybody, and the politics keeping those who can be vaccinated from getting vaccinated IS a contributing factor. Your denials change nothing. Industry pricing is void of ideology. It’s costs, margins, and projections. Math. Cold, hard business decisions.

This is why I haven't gotten the shot. My doctor has advised me not to. Mainly because I have asthma and it could cause severe problems for me. He says that because of my blood type and because I have asthma, I am less susceptible to catching the covid. But I still mask up and carry hand sanitizer everywhere I go.

Back to the mad stuff 🤣. Tiffany had a parking light/brake light go out on the van. I told her to go by advance to get bulbs Monday. She texted me at work and said they told her it doesn't have regular bulbs, they were LED, and she had to buy the whole assembly, $300 plus. I've never changed that one, so I told her no we'd order through the shop here. We ordered, for like $70, and took it apart, and it was a bulb! So it costed 50 cents compared to the over $300 advance wanted. Goobers.

You ordered the whole assembly, took it apart, saw it was a bulb, put it back together and sent it back?

Think I would’ve told her to hold off til I get home to look at it. Would’ve seen it was a bulb in the taillight assembly then go to the auto parts store and get a new one.
