The Weightlifters Thread

Whether or not there is any scientific basis for muscle confusion, I could see why people would believe in it. Every time I change a minor detail in my workout, I'm sore as FUUUUU. The next week, not so much.

yep, so there's another meaning behind the name of dead lifts. Because, I feel pretty dead today.

Am I the only one still in this thread?

Should I be concerned about squats and deadlifts on back to back days? Today is legs day.

Man I keep forgetting about this thread, Thrasher I would have a day or two off between deadlifts and leg day. You are working the legs and back on deadlifts. That is just my preference.

if i'm working different groups I prefer to work an upperbody group one day and a lowerbody group the next. alternate like that

I just may have to rethink my whole workout order. It's hard to coordinate without any overlap in consecutive days.

I have chest monday, back tuesday and use legs wednesday to put a gap between chest/back and arms, which is thursday.

I've started doing deadlifts on back day, so I may just alternate weeks and do deads one week and squats the next.

You could use Wednesday as an off day, then hit legs Thursday, and Chest/back/arms Friday. Just a suggestion. Keep killing it on the deadlifts

I don't like to work out on Friday. Friday is beer day. Also, I work half days on Fridays, so when I get off, I almost always have plans.

I also don't have a day strictly devoted to back. I like to work my muscles in pairs. So when I do chest, I do back.

Did squats anyway. Legs have turned to jello.

Legs day used to be torture. Now legs and back are my two favorite days. Interesting. I will probably be able to jump to the moon after my calves get a rest. I am on ebay ordering personal space survival suit as we speak.

I want to incorporate straight leg deadlifts in place of leg curls as soon as I can, but I felt working in two different variations of deadlifts on back to back days was a bit of a stretch all at once. Once I get comfortable with standard deadlifts, I will add straight leg deads. I may reorder my workouts, as well.

I think I have done a much better job this time of pushing myself than I have in past workout stretches. Every week I manage to make each muscle group really sore for at least a day or two.

Normally, after 3 or 4 weeks, I can't seem to push myself to the point where all muscle groups are sore. Especially biceps. I have had fun the past couple weeks with 21 gun salutes. Plus it just sounds badass.

I've been eating better, too. Last night it was baked chicken breasts with cranberry sauce. Today for lunch, put the leftovers on a sammich.

I still eat a lot of tuna helper, but that used to be the healthiest thing I'd eat all week. Now, it's the least healthy meal of the week. Sometimes you're just too lazy to cook anything substantial.

Haven't had fast food in 1 1/2 weeks.

Forgot to respond to this, but since I just added deadlifts, they are much more of a back and shoulders workout for me at this point than legs. I may change this in the future, but for right now, they fit in my workout better on back/shoulders day.

My legs are a lot stronger than my core at this point.

Great job on eating healthier. Just wait till the next time you eat fast food, it will mess your stomach up so bad.

Keep working hard and doing what works. You know your body the best.

I guess I'll have to eat Zaxby's or something once a week to keep my stomach trained, because when I go somewhere for work, I usually end up eating some fast food out of necessity. Most fast food places have salads, though.

I need a little help. I am about to start using supplements again and would like to know what is good out there right now.

I still play football and I've always used some type of pre-workout and protein after the workout. I've also used creatine before. I'm trying to gain some good weight and muscle this offseason and would like some suggestions.

Would like to know some of the best supplements that are currently available for gaining weight and muscle. I'd like to narrow it down to supplements that are legal and not absolutely terrible for the liver/body. Thanks.
