I am sort of forced to quit to a certain degree during season.
But I know what you mean. I don't like quitting either. When you do though, it is difficult to get back into it. Luckily it doesn't take too long for my muscles to get back close to where they were. Just sore for the first couple of weeks.
Getting started back up is difficult. I've lifted 3 times this week which is really good for my lazy a$$. Good thing is that once you've lifted for a long time you just knock the rust off and the muscle memory kicks in. By the way, how was your season this year?
Tough to go through injuries. I wasn't a great football player, but I was good enough to start my senior year. I had never been injured and ended up separating both shoulders at different times, and then getting a back injury that ended my season. I missed like a total of 7 weeks or something. It was pretty depressing to miss out on my only chance to really play varsity. I still had a pick at homecoming (I played CB), and that was the highlight of my HS career....Yay me.
I agree with you there, nbakerld. It was pretty depressing missing just those 2 games. I couldn't imagine missing 7 games, especially senior year in high school.
I still love playing football, no matter the level, but I would have been devastated if I would have missed any of my senior year of high school. That is a special year. But at least you got to play and get an INT in the HC game.
It's my rotator cuff, and it hasn't been 100% probably since HS (2000). I made it worse in softball this past fall. I can lift around it, pain-free, but it's not getting better. Sucks.
I did a workout with Charlie Petrone last week. Holy ****, I was sore for about two days.
Petrone Training
yeah
