Lol. I'm sure you have awesome calves. I been taking it easy for a few months but if you bench over 350 you got me. I'm sure you're a lot skinnier than me too.

Oh well, nevermind. You are stronger than me. I didn't know you were that strong. Last time I maxed out on bench, last spring, I could get 280 once. That was without a spotter. Give me the insurance of a spotter I may could have gotten a lil more. I was on Novedex XT and Jack3d at that time.
 
It's not as complicated as I made it sound at all.

I was just pointing out food is more important than supplements if you want to build muscle.

Gotcha. I eat a good diet. And over the past 9 months I've definitely noticed more definition, but I haven't really gotten that much stronger. Didn't know if there was anything else I could do diet/supplement wise. I'm not doing anything advanced. My trainer sets up the workouts but he didnt recommend any supplements other than protein after workouts

Think because it's such a chest beating exercise for do many and it's nearly worthless as a measure.

I agree with that.

I don't think it makes one look like a jackass though. If you're maxing out every other week, like I've seen some, than yes. However, I can think of dozens of other things far more ridiculous I see in the gym every week.

However, I don't think it makes someone look like a jackass. Skinny kids doing concentration curls or fat people doing crunches look like jackasses to me JMO tho.

I don't see it as jackass. It's jackass to post it here as some sort of measure of strength or manliness. I understand why high school coaches make it a big deal, but thereafter, it's meaningless. The bench rep stuff is a different animal IMO.

Which is a good thing because I'm not that strong. Although I would apparently be accused of juicin at Billy's Curves.

I'm not either. I'm strong enough and can rep good numbers. Don't remember last max. Probably in college because we had to log them.

This is the weightlifting forum & I don't see anything posted in regard to weightlifting as "chest beating" & I don't see how anybody could crush their trachea doing it either. I only listed mine in resonse to Billy because it's probably the most common lift.

How is it worthless as a measure? If it is then lifting in general is. Any lift. If getting stronger is a goal then an occasional max gives you an idea of your progress. Nobody was putting anybody down or anything it was just the silly banter between myself & Billy but since you have an issue with me you also chimed in. It's all good though.

365 pound 1RM on bench press.

21 reps of 225 pounds on bench press.

And, yes, I am a jackass.

Lol. That's about where I was but maybe 5-10lbs more. I did 365 & stopped with a little left more in the tank. I would think you should be able to do 225 more though.
