The Runner's thread

I've been running or actively playing sports my whole life and I probably twist my ankle at least 4 times a year. I just have weak ankles from playing basketball. I can literally be walking perfectly normal and my ankle (either of them) just gives out. And I'm not counting all the time I twist and can just walk it off.

I am the same way. I ran 2 miles today and rolled mine twice. It's to the point it doesn't slow me down long I'm so used to it.

I did some cross training yesterday - swam laps for 20 minutes, pounded on the heavy bag, and ran my fastest mile ever: 6:23.

I got caught out in a wind storm in my run last night so it really slowed me down. I saw a transformer blow in front of me and a power line get pulled down by a tree in front of me as well. Most intresting run I have had for sure.

Sounds more like a deadly obstacle course

Tried to get up and go running this morning before work but didn't sleep well last night so when the alarm went off I had no motivation to go running. I just worked out at home in the a/c instead.

I have A/C in my loft and it's still burning up when I workout in the mornings.

I ran 2 miles today and about melted. It was brutally hot. Still not used to running in these hills in NC either. Pace was a little over 10 minutes per mile.

looking forward to getting painting and such done and moving into the new house so that I can get back to running

Got in 5 this morning. With the current heat + humidity 5-6 is about my limit. Cannot wait until it starts cooling down a bit.

13.15 today for my trail half. 2:40:52. About 20 minutes worse than last year. It was way hotter this year though.

I used to when I played soccer in high school. Found that if you didn't have a way to hold the remote in place (ie. their Nike+ shoes) then it wouldn't do a very good job of keeping track of distance and pace. But when it was, I loved it.

I have a fuel band. It's great motivation. I play a lot of basketball, so I was going to grab a pair of Hyperdunk+ shoes when they came out but 250 bones for a pair of shoes is a little steep.

Nike+ and I love it

Your battery is almost dead. :)

It's brutal out right now. It's hard to get motivated when it's this hot.

:hi: to you. You're a better man than me. I wanted to bring you a cold drink Saturday when you were talking about the heat at your work. lol I just can't handle heat and sun like I used to.

That's why I ain't getting old...

Ran and logged my run with the mapmyrun.com app for the first time last night. Pretty cool. I need to get me an arm ban though. I didn't like my phone being in my pocket.

Ha. Saturday I work I could have used a cold beer...it was hot.

I got three miles in last night at seven o'clock. It was hot hot hot. As soon as I started walking to my car after I was done the sun went behind clouds and it felt like it cooled down 20 degrees. Guess that was mother nature's way of saying ha ha in your face.

I should be done with all my house stuff by Saturday. Back to running the moment that happens. This has been a hard 4 days.

Ran 7 miles in the 80+ degree weather with what felt lik 90% humidity yesterday. After my run my shorts looked like I had taken a dip in the river. Been feeling completely spent since then so I decided to take today off.
