Logged a little over 38 so I'm getting better with a lot of energy to spare due to starting close to the back (bad idea). Use to run an 8k in the 26's but took 12 years off and now I'm looking to get as close to 30 as possible.
I tend to buy new running shoes for motivation, but it hasn't worked well of late with the heat and humidity. That said, I do have a stable full of really nice running shoes from most of the manufacturers. Still been knocking out 25 miles per week, but about half are on a treadmill these days. My knees and feet really like the treadmill, but my brain hates it.
Treadmill is hard to beat as far as being able to control the climate but I get cabin fever after running on the treadmill and want to be outside in the environment with something to look at while I run.
Treadmills are awesome. I can go up to my loft and run on flat ground, or go up hills, and I never worry about being so far from home I can't get back.

Really tired of this effing humidity. Making it near impossible to run at my normal efficiency. Having to run 10-20 seconds slower per mile. I keep telling myself it's cause of the humidity but my first thought is that I'm losing fitness.
Not to mention that I have to wash my shorts after every run (usually try and get two runs in them before I wash them cause I only have 3 pairs in rotation).
In the process of renting out the house that we live in and moving in with the in-laws till we find another house, so I haven't been able to run much this week. I am already missing it and not really looking forward to looking at houses because I know that it's going to take away from my running time.
Idk if any of u run (or would wanna run) the color me rad 5k at chilhowee park october 6, but right now groupon has 50% off registration (makes it 20$). It looks like a fun race if any of u wanna look into it. If Not sorry for cluttering ur thread
took a week off after my 5 miler on the beach last monday... what did it to for me? Just allowed me to set a PR of 37:10 in a 5 miler today... a little pumped about that. A little tired too.

Thanks. I also want to add that one hour and a shower later, I'm still sweating. I think my PT outfit weighs 5 lbs right now. Even my PT belt is soaked, which means I sweat through my shorts so much that it soaked the belt. Ewwww.
It's hot and muggy there's no doubt about it. I went and cleaned out my storage unit on Friday for about an hour at seven oclock in the evening and you could ring the sweat out of my shirt. I was wearing a dry fit shirt too.
Anyone know much about having laser treatments for foot pain?
I had surgery on both feet last year and have gotten back to 85-90% but can't seem to get over the hump. My dr called me today and said that he thinks I would be a good candidate. At this point I'm willing to try almost anything to be pain free an back to running on a reg basis.
