The Runner's thread

Even though it's a small race, there happens to be a former NCAA All-American running in it.

So I won't even be close. I think he ran it ~15min. I hope to get close to 20

That sucks. It should be limited to people who haven't ran professionally. If there was a way to do that.

Alright my fellow runners, I ran three miles last night (lots of hills with decent inclines) and the whole time my legs just felt super fatigued. Is it time to take some time off? Or any ideas of how to help with this? I was taking accerlade and it seemed to help for a little while but now seems to not have any effect on me.

TIA.

When this happens to me it is usually just natural fatigue. Personal experience has shown that taking a few days off and you usually notice a big difference.

Super uncool alert question: anyone have a jogging stroller that they take their kids running with them? I just bought one tonight and wanted to see if anyone else ran with one

Saw a dad at a 5k bungee cord a bike trailer to a camelbak. He raced pulling his two sons.

There is a Kenyan that lives in this area. When he shows up its over.

He ran a mountain trail 10k with 1300' of elevation gain in 35 minutes. Second place was 6 minutes slower. Immediately went out and ran it again. Finished ahead of a lot of people on his second time through.

Show off IMO.

Lol. Another one for ya'll. Roanoke hosts the Blue Ridge Marathon, which they advertise as the toughest road marathon in the US. A group of runners this year got the brillant idea to run it, rest for 10 minutes & then run it again for fun/training. That is insane.

2.23 for PT... in my new kicks:

I like the Brooks pure line. I have a pair of the PureFlows that I love

This is my third pair of the cadences this year. I average at least 400 miles in them before I need to get new ones. Last two were the black pairs, but I got a little more colorful this time. gotta make that pt uniform pop Drill Sgt.

I have the green PureFlows. I always get bright colored shoes for PT :)

I hated that our drill sgts all got to wear nice (and colorful) pt shoes. My run time had never been an issue but I showed up to basic with a very nice pair of sauconys that sat in my personal bag the whole time. Until the record pt test. I took almost 50 seconds offoff my run time. Part of our was running on a real track obviously, but I know the shoes helped tremendously.

I had a nice pair of running shoes that sat in my bag as well. Except I never got to wear them until airborne school. I didn't get to wear them during OSUT

So thankful that signal corps MOSs aren't osut. Spending almost 40 weeks at ft Meade and being considered a regular soldier due to the length we were there was pretty cool. Had my car and visited DC and Baltimore regularly. How many cycles have you had so far?
