Hugh Broughton, generally regarded as perhaps the greatest Hebrew scholar of that age. He didn’t end up working on the KJV, (contrary to claims that the KJV companies contained all of the best scholars of the age).
Broughton believed that the word use should reflect its consistent use of that age where as the KJV translators did not take into account how those words would have been used at the time they were written but rather what they believed the intent should have been.
