The Official New York Knicks Thread.

Lost 9 of the lat 10 lost with Melo. You can blame D'Antoni all you want but he was winning a lot more before that overrated "scorer" hit your roster.

5 game W streak. Where's all the haters?

They deserve props for the OT win against Orlando, but 4 of those wins were at home and 4 were against nobodies, so it's not all that impressive.

I'd be more impressed if they go 2-2 over the next 4.

They were losing to nobodies 3 weeks ago so its progress. Plus they're not only beating nobodies, they're winning convincingly which they should.

FWIW, Melo's 3 pnt % is up since he joined the Knicks. Thought you'd like that.

That's true.

Also, Melo is playing better at NY. His FG% is up, but rebounds are slightly down. So are his turnovers though too. It's only been 24 games, though. Usually players experience improved productivity their first year with a new coach. I'd like to see about 50 games or so of him keeping up that 3pt %. He's had higher than 46% in FG in his career, but he's never been remotely close to 44% from 3 pt, so it's probably a random result. Good for him if he keeps it up, though.

7 in a row. Melo showed another valuable asset, if the Knicks were a car he'd be the clutch.

"Carmelo’s game-winning jumper — he called it “Another Melo moment” — was the 16th go-ahead field goal made in the last 10 seconds of a game in his career. That total is now the most by an NBA player since the 2003-04 season, which moved him ahead of Kobe Bryant (15). Ray Allen (11) and Dirk Nowitzki (10) also top the list." - Alan Hahn

It's been a spectacular 7 games. What drives me nuts about this stat is they never tell you how many game-winning opportunities Kobe and Melo have had. Maybe Ray Allen's had 20 and Kobe's had 45, but Kobe gets called "the closer".

I'm not sure if that means anything.

He's probably taken just about every single shot with the game on the line.

Anyways, he's confirmed my reasoning for disliking him. Always thought he was arrogant and selfish. He'll take every single shot offered up while ignoring his defensive assignments. Now, he's referring to himself in third person. Looks like he's going to ride that national championship all the way to the finish. He's pretty proud of beating a team that was playing for nothing and had a losing record. They clinched a playoff berth a game prior and can't move up in seeding.

Honestly, they better get him a Dennis Rodman, Ron Artest or Bruce Bowen. I don't see this guy winning a championship at the NBA level. He demanded to play in New York. Refused to take a pay cut. And was willing to have the entire roster gutted to get his way. He doesn't care about winning, he just cares about getting his numbers and living the life. Jmo.

Knicks have to like their chances against the tanking Celtics for the playoffs. Perkins-for-Green was worst trade of century.

Unfortunately, they still have Rondo, who absolutely drives at will on a D'Antoni defense. I think he's averaging 16 or 17 assists per game against NY this season.

The best 4 teams in the East (by a long shot) are Bos, then Mia, and then Chi and Orl are a push. The best 2 teams in the West are San Antonio and LA (by a long shot) then they are followed by Dallas and OKC.

Atlanta, Philly, NY, and Indiana are last 4 (Milwaukee may get in).

Denver, Memphis, New Orleans, and Portland are last 4 in west (with Houston and Phoenix both close).

Denver is very hard to predict. The last 6 games have skewed their point differential positively, but that could be a completely random outcome and not reflective of what's going to happen the rest of the season. Also it's unclear from my last post, but I'll take Miami to win the #1 seed.

Ended up pretty accurate. I didn't take into consideration that Chicago would finish so strong with a healthy roster (I inaccurately made my prediction based on 20 games without Booze and 30 without Noah). Also this prediction was made before the Celtics foolishly traded Perkins.

I figured the Celtics for the finals but losing Perkins will get them bounced in the 2nd round.

Horrible call at the end on melo on that "offensive foul", garbage call gives Boston the win

Don't forget Garnett tripping Toney Douglas on the 3 that Ray Allen hit.

I seriously want to see someone hit KG. I'm sick of that clown. I don't know if he was pulling this BS in in MIN but managed to get away with it unnoticed or if he's lost his mind since going to BOS, but I'd kill to have a goon on this team to properly deal with Boston.

That's a discouraging loss. Bit of bad luck with Billups out and Amare with back spasms in the 2nd half but rebounding kept Knicks in it. And Melo.

Oh yeah, thanks for showing up Bill Walker, does your life partner suck that bad too?

Melo played very poorly in game 1 and they almost won. He played out of his mind in game 2 and they almost won. They just need more than a couple guys to show and they'd be up 2-0.

The fact that Jeffries didn't even look at the hoop from 2 ft away on the last possesion was an absolute joke. Good thing that guy was a former lottery pick.

I understand offense isn't his strength and he knows that, but sometimes he really hurts the team by immediately giving the ball up. MAN!

Amare and Billups still questionable for game 3. Update en la manana.

There are two professional athletes I hate: Brett Favre and Kevin Garnett. Kevin Garnett is a punky ass who thinks he's the baddest man in the NBA, when all he does is pick on guys five inches shorter than him. He's a disgrace.

YouTube - KG taunts Jerryd Bayless with doggy style on ESPN

Mmmh, I used to dream about Punky's ass.

Garnett is so sick. You might not like him, but any team would be a whole hell of a lot better with him.

Amare is "probable" for game 3, Billups is "doubtful".

I'll believe it when I see it. I think they both suit up for game 3. Probably rest Billups as much as he can, all depending on the flow of the game.

One of the worst games effort wise I have seen as a Knick fan in 20 years.
