The Official Dan Mullen Thread

Agreed... But just cause Florida's coaching hires have sucked slightly less than ours doesn't change the fact that they've still sucked. So I'm not sure I'd point to their decisions (like he did), as if they're something we should try to replicate.

Yeah he looked awesome destroying that hapless Arkansas team this past weekend by 7...Butch 2.0

He may end up with the job but it making the rounds thru the AD is silly.

Not really, 5 years, 32 million is the rumor. You knew it wouldn’t be long before people around the AD cracked. Always does at every school. Does Mullen say yes is the question. He’s been offered big jobs before.

Ole Miss would use his religion (or lack thereof) against him in recruiting. He’s an antheist, Scientologist. I guess the SEC is ruthless to use a man’s religion in recruiting.

Dan Mullen seems to be the beginning and end of this coaching search and apparently it's spreading around the AD like wildfire.
***UPDATE: Apparently Mullen's staff has already started reaching out to UT commits in an effort to build relationships.

If Mullen is so good and MS State is such a bad place for him... Why is he still there?

Of all the coaching searches across the CFB world that have taken place over the past 4-5 years, why has no one else scooped him up?

Who says no one has tried?

Gary Patterson is widely considered to be one of the best coaches in the nation. Why hasn't anyone else hired him away from TCU in the last 10 years? How about Mark Dantonio?

Nobody thinks he’s worth the big bucks. If schools truly wanted him they’d pony up and get him Florida easily could as well as any other big school.

I don't know why people still think this. You can't just automatically assume you can outspend. Everybody in a Power 5 conference has money now with the TV deals. Mullen already has a top 15 salary even at Miss State. 15 years ago, that would've been unfathomable. $4.5M in a small media market where you don't even have to win 10+ games a year ain't a bad gig.
