The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

Medley has scored 76 points this year.

In comparison, Vandy has scored a total of 133 points, 47 of which are from the Austin Peay game.

So against Division I teams, the Vandy offense has scored 86 total points, while Medley has scored 66 points.

If Medley wasn't having such a dismal year, he very likely would be at Vanderbilt's total or even past theirs.

Using your metrics - Medley is only 5 points behind mizzoo - 66 vs 71. :)

I know the "ifs and buts" game can be played by every fan base, however it just seems to fit Vandy this year more than normal.

Can you believe that we were that close to these last 2 games determining whether or not we could have won the Eastern Division? Without an offense?

When our offense becomes mid level SEC caliber (and I believe that could be as soon as next year) look out!

Next year will be so much better with the return of Duncan, Woods, Pinkney, Jelks, etc. Along with improvement of Monroe, Sherfield, Scott and Rayford. Remember that Shurmer has only had 1 Fall camp, not 3 Springs and 3 Falls like Johnny. Expect alot of improvement from him before game 1 of 2016.

Vandy will never have an offense under Mason. He's basically a much worse version of Will Muschamp as a head coach. His recruiting is also so bad that once Franklin's recruits are gone, his schemes won't matter because he will be fielding a C-USA team every week against SEC opponents.

while technically possible, they are on crack.

Beat A&M and UT and we're guaranteed 3rd place! If only we could have SC and UF back, we would be in control of our destiny to go to Atlanta!

i really hope we whoop them.

We will. I'm more concerned about Missouri than I ever will be Vandy. Vandy might have a good defense but we simply have too many weapons for them to stop. Even on an awful Shield-Watkins field we hang 20+ on them.

Kiffin already used Vandy's one offensive scoring play on us, so we should be alert to it. All UT defense has to do is watch the sideline and make sure a receiver isn't hiding there, and they should have Vandy's O covered.

According to VadyMania, their schedule is too brutal. With an easier schedule, they could be in a bowl.

Even with as bad as we have played in many games, we should already be bowl eligible. Horrible scheduling. Should not have to come down to winning against A/M and Ut.

We all saw the enthusiasm that bowl games injected into our program. VU fans showed up in droves and were excited.

My wife was shopping on West End today around noon. She came home and told me she saw more aTm fans than Vandy fans. I looked at her like "why are you surprised"?

They were everywhere in Midtown and Broadway/2nd Ave on Friday. Impressed by their turnout.

So you're saying Jalen Hurd had more yards against one of the best defenses in the country than Vandy had against one of the worst in the conference?

Yes. And Aaron Medley is now only 8 points away from tying Vandy's point total if you don't include the Austin Peay game (likely the worst opponent any P5 team faced this year).

95 points for Medley and 103 for Vandy.
