The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

Just this week:
Medley: 9
VU: 7

Not sure why this is hard to believe. Kickers always lead NFL in scoring.

Most of the time (not always - RB LaDainian Tomlinson holds the single season record for points scored in a single season with 186 from 2006) a kicker does lead the NFL in scoring but there is a big difference between leading all other players in scoring vs a single player leading an entire team which almost never happens.

I think Vanderbilt upsets Kentucky this Saturday. I think Vandy's defense will give Kentucky and their poor offensive line lots of problems.

I'm gonna say it - Vandy has a defense. If we play them on a muddy field it's going to get muddy.

if we don't turn the ball over, and thats a big if, we win handily. not going to say win big, by more than two touchdowns, but two touchdowns wins us this game.

If you take away the Austin Peay game (worst opponent any DI school faces this year), Vandy's points scored vs Medley's points scored aren't too far apart from each other.

Not to take away anything from APSU, but North Texas is probably the worst team anyone faces this year.

North Texas won a game this year against an FBS team. APSU is 0-10 and hasn't really come close to beating any of its FCS opponents.

Meh, they won against UTSA which has a 1-8 record. Not sure I'd break out the champagne just yet.

Lol. Not really sure how you can argue that a team with an FBS win is worse than an FCS team that has 1 win in 3 seasons, but okay.

I typically don't think any FCS school is going to win over an FBS school. So I really don't hold it against APSU over not winning against Vandy.

North Texas on the other hand has been horrid like no other this year. I was meaning a regular opponent most would face this year.

As far as I'm concerned the overall record combined with that Portland state game invalidates all logical comparisons, lol. They are more than worthless this year.

Probably should have scheduled them then. I can't imagine the college teams that NT would "beat handily" are in abundance.

It would probably be a slap fest, but I imagine NT at least has a few athletes that would win their one on one matchups. APSU's roster has gotta be among the worst in all of D1 football.

Speaking of which, who wins: APSU or the best D3 team in the nation?

I was going to say the best D2 team, but the national champion D2 team (CSU-Pueblo) actually beat 11-5 FCS Sam Houston State last season.

Medley has scored 76 points this year.

In comparison, Vandy has scored a total of 133 points, 47 of which are from the Austin Peay game.

So against Division I teams, the Vandy offense has scored 86 total points, while Medley has scored 66 points.

If Medley wasn't having such a dismal year, he very likely would be at Vanderbilt's total or even past theirs.
