The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

What cracks me up, is they think UT is more likely to win 4 games than 8.

I don't think they know a thing about this UT team.

That think that beat up all to heck team they played in November is what Tennessee will be in 2015. They're in for a big surprise and a lot of pain.

There was one guy in there that knew what was up but at the end he had to ask Yates not to lable him as a troll and ban him. How ****ing pathetic is that?

How I imagine that Yates guy:

"I think we will lose to WKU and probably win 2 SEC games and go 4-8, but on the uptick. I think the team will improve vastly over the course of the year and by the end of the year, we are back excited for football."

So if they win 2 SEC games and are 4-8 then that leaves only 2/4 OOC games as wins. So this guy is essentially saying they will lose to WKU and Houston but win two SEC games? WKU and Houston are respectable opponents, but I am having trouble following his logic here.

Lose to WKU, lose to Houston. Beat Tennessee, then beat Auburn in the SEC Championship game.

Based on what I know of Vandy logic, that is what he is saying.

"We will compete with many SEC teams, and we will win some of these games. I hope I don't have to eat my words, but even though I'm a pessimist by nature, this is how I see things going forward."

This guy got off to an early start drinking on this Friday evening.

That guy is doing some heavy drugs! Vandy would be able to compete in the Southern Conference but that's about it. I think Chattanooga could beat them.

Outside of an abysmal W/L record this year, my prediction for Vandy in 2015 is that Mason is going to be so hyper-conscious of his QB management failure last year that he will roll with either Freebeck or McRary long past the point that it's clear they're not fit for the job.

He just seems like the type of guy to overreact so wildly that he swings in the extreme opposite direction and does something equally as dumb as his original mistake.

That's a really good point. I could see it going one of two ways...either exactly as you describe, or he gives his OC complete control over QB management.

It's pretty much a guarantee that he's going to be neurotic this season and afraid of second-guessing himself...even when changing his mind would be the right move.

And yeah, I could see Mason basically retreating into the full-time DC role and essentially abandoning his HC responsibilities on game day.

He looked extremely uncomfortable as HC last season and is at-home as DC. Wonder which one will win out...

According to Vandymania Vanderbilt leads the SEC in returning defensive productivity. You can't make this sch itt up.

Vanderbilt Commodores Football, Basketball, and Recruiting Front Page

As long as their offense is trash their defense wont look better than average. They are going to be on the field the entire game, every game. Another thing about their defense is that its extremely thin. They can talk all they want about the changes they have mad ebut it doesnt matter. Their offensive player personnel is atrocious. Scheu isnt healthy yet. This is their 3rd OC in 3 yrs. The offense will leave them out to dry esp against the SEC and Houston.
