The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

I wonder which will get more attention(posts or threads started) on VM this season, UT losing a game or Vandy winning a game. I feel the answer is obvious.lol

If WKU boat races them like temple did it'll be pretty bad over there but after that UT losing will get top billing since they have it in their heads we all think UT will be playing for the national championship this year

We could lose in the national championship game and Vandy fans will gloat.

I mean, we kinda did that already when they lost in the baseball world series, but then again....it's baseball.

"Color me naive, but I have an inkling that this team will have some fight in it this year. Would love to see us take WKU out of the game in the first half"

This particular poster's level of denial about Vandy football and outspoken hatred for anything UT is part of what makes reading their threads so entertaining. That cartoon of the dog in denial in the burning room that I think Aesius posted here a few weeks ago is absolutely spot on.

It's funny how that works isn't it? The same guy on vandymania that wrote, "Last season is not reality since it has come and gone. Only right now is reality. If we insist on basing the future which has yet to exist on a past which no longer exists, then this season has no chance," is probably the same guy that would claim UT is in for another disappointing season because they have been pretty bad to average since 2008.

What kind of Freudian-like, Plato-esque, Confucian philosophical, pseudoscience bull**** logic did I just read.

WKU returns one of the most prolific, high powered offenses in all of CFB and possibly one of the best QBs. Brandon Doughty and WKU are going to SMOKE them.

WKU was 2nd in all of CFB in passing yards last year, and I know it's inferior competition but let's also look at it this way. WKU scored a total of 577 points last year. Vandy may put up points but unless their defense is VASTLY improved, they're going to get "Templed." That's my new word, btw.

That was a really deep post by the Vanderbilt fan:lol:

Yeah when that guy AlbertCamus posts over there I feel like I'm reading a Shakespeare play. It's entirely unnecessary when discussing college football but hey maybe he's just part of the academic elite class that VU produces.:zeitung_lesen:

"I think we will lose to WKU and probably win 2 SEC games and go 4-8, but on the uptick. I think the team will improve vastly over the course of the year and by the end of the year, we are back excited for football."

So if they win 2 SEC games and are 4-8 then that leaves only 2/4 OOC games as wins. So this guy is essentially saying they will lose to WKU and Houston but win two SEC games? WKU and Houston are respectable opponents, but I am having trouble following his logic here.

Ha. I would love to know which two SEC games he thinks Vandy is going to win. I'm sure he believes "EweTee" is one of them.

If they get trounced by WKU like everyone thinks they will, they'll have no shot in hell against UK, which is probably their best chance at an SEC win. Towles is likely just as good as Doughty but with worse stats due to playing tougher competition and UK is a better team overall than WKU.

I'm pretty sure that was a really long winded way of saying "last season bad, future good."

What's funny to me is in trying so hard to sound smart it sounded so forced the poster made himself sound dumb.

One must assume that OP, being a Vanderbilt football fan, lacks "logic" to begin with.
