The Last of Us Series (HBO)

Why can't you?

LOL at "arguing about pandering" (which is not putting people down) and then you make a point about pandering. You guys are the ones saying it's pandering, I was just using y'all's words.

You are always one of the ones to argue, but ok. You rushed to respond though lol.

Anyway, I felt like the episode would have been better after the series had been on a while, at least.

Moving on. Still have high hopes for it.

Luckily as of this coming Sunday we can move past this terrible episode and actually get back to the story. But for anyone saying this episode was "one of the best pieces of television there's been" and "the best episode of the series so far" IMDB viewer ratings:

Episode 1: 9.2
Episode 2: 9.2
Episode 3: 7.9

Easily the worst of the series.

Moving on now. I think we're about to get into the story arc involving Sam and Henry. That's going to be some good TV.

I thought it was the best episode so far. Never played the games. I didn't mind taking the focus off the two main characters, it's not like they aren't going to get plenty of screentime throughout the series.

It has a lower rating because of the homophobes giving it 1 star. The majority of people loved the episode.

Though I agree this is happening, I also think it's OK to not have liked the episode.
  • If Bill is one of your favorite characters, it must be terribly disappointing that he will not be on the show going forward.
  • Some people just don't like slow-burns
  • Other?

The episode was fine. The story of Bill and Frank was done well. My ONLY issue is that they killed off Bill, when he played a role in the game with interacting with Ellie.

Did Bill die in the game? And when/how?

No. In the game, frank leaves bill and hangs himself after being bitten. joel, Ellie, and bill discover his hanging corpse and a note to bill, in which frank talks about how he could no longer stand bill and had to get out of there, etc.
Bill is never shown to die in the games.

Watched episode 3. Thought it was by far the best episode so far. Actually had an original take on the genre. Thought it was well done, paced well. I felt empathy for them. I even felt like Joel and Elle settled into their roles at the end. He was a man and she wasn't annoying any longer. I hope the spirit of exploring more than zombie killing continues. If so I'm here for it.

I have enjoyed each episode of this series so far. Never played the game but have heard that it is a great one.
I’m disappointed that Bill and Elle didn’t get to interact since that was a good part of the game storyline. May have enjoyed the episode more since I didn’t know.
The gasoline still being usable in old abandoned cars kinda threw me off. If it’s been over 20 years, no way that would work.
Just my two cents.
Amazed how quickly they were able to get from Boston to Kansas City too. Thought they would have more adventures along the way route. For the gamers, did the game move that far that fast?

Gay free episode this week. Somebody about to get fired at HBO 😄
The last few execs have been gay. If you ever watched Game of Thrones during the early seasons they used to skip a Sunday to put in gay friendly programming, hoping to catch GoT regulars off guard. So a week with gay stuff is often a tough pill for HBO leadership to swallow.
