He will be a huge improvement over Cornbread and he can't get Tennessee into any more trouble than they already are in.

Tennessee is on no position to pull a caliber coach like Kiffin.
Hell three years ago we thought we were too good for Schiano. Today he wouldn’t even give us a second look.
Vols football is dead, it’s going to take years to recover from this mess.
Expect a Google coach this time around.

You don’t spend $1.8M on an AD to tell him to hire a coach at the dollar tree. We’re swinging big. If people turn us down, it won’t be because of money.

Sorry. They are divorced.
Lane has reportedly stopped chasing young coeds and has found Jesus.

110%. I truly believe he’s a different person than he was at 34 years old or whatever he was at the time. I’m not sure he’d leave another major program to come here though.

After the way he bailed on us last time? I’m sorry but I’d have to pass. I don’t trust him; afraid he’d jump ship if offered another high caliber job.

Only way he would be offered a higher caliber job than UT would be if he won championships here.

Put a big buyout on him and let it ride.

You guys are so typical Tennessee, like things bright and shiny. I’ll agree he’s got that and fun to watch, but can he win consistently.

Eh... call it salt regarding being left in the middle of the night eleven years ago, but I'm not so certain that I'd be interested in inviting a coach with a proven track record of leaving programs after one year of mild success (he'd be ditching Ole Miss after one year, to be fair) for greener pastures. Tennessee needs stability now more than ever, and I'm not sure that Lane Kiffin is the right guy for that.

I would back the hire but he's not at the top of my list of potential Tennessee head football coaches.

Kiffin is fantastic with offense that is why Nick Saban hired him to the OC at Alabama. Kiffin is an absolute loser when it comes to defense. He even scored well against Alabama. If you were two hire Kiffin be sure you also hire the best in a DC.
If he is hired I could almost promise you who is DC is and that would be Will Muschamp. Him and Will are big buddies and he would have one heck of a Defensive which you could say is ready to be signed. I think Will Muschamp will be DC/DB, Rodney Garner DL, he may keep Steele and Simon at LB not sure there but to me that would be a good staff.
