I read this to mean you are essentially saying you require a witness to a confession to consider the thing proven beyond a reasonable doubt at this point, right?

Not even talking about me. I do believe that some will need a witness that can directly say they heard Trump give the order at the very least. As far as I know, no one has said they heard it directly from Trump, just that they presume it came from him. And their reasoning for why is also presumptive.

Everyone has a threshold on what they find reasonable. I think it's arguable that threshold hasn't been met for everyone, and I'm not just talking about Trump supporters who will never be swayed any way. Take out feelings and politics. I think for some, they need that direct tie to Trump to overcome reasonable doubt.

But that's JMO.

You don't need differential equations to do the math on this. Failing to recognize or otherwise come to terms with the facts will not make that harsh reality cease to exist.

I think Rudy might be the key. I'm not sure how he can hide behind attorney/client privilege as Trump's lawyer while he was also apparently acting as an agent for the government in the Ukraine. That definitely creates a conflict of interest that merits further investigation IMO.

And partisanship swings both ways. If someone testified to Trump giving the order, you're right that the GOP and Trump supporters would likely smear them. At the same time, if an exonerating witness came forward, the Dems and never Trumpers would smear them. It goes both ways.
