found the slot today. Man, it sure is a fun game when you find it without having to look for it. All i did was focus on coming through the ball aggressively with what I thought was a three quarter backswing. I was probably farther back than I thought, but getting too far in my backswing is what causes me problems. My elbow breaks down, then it's a mess.

I'm relearning the game again after a 15 year lay off and finding that if I pay attention to what I'm doing, I strike it pretty good. If I just walk up and stroke it, probably gonna top it.

I play a 48° i15 ping pw, a 52° Cleveland cg15, a 56°Cleveland cg15 and 60° Cleveland cg15. Sort of just waiting on the Clevelands to wear down so I can go back to the 588 models, but I think Vokeys are just too heavy for my taste. I learned with the 588s and I'm engrained into being a Cleveland wedge guy. I'm horrible at trying to take 10-15 yards off a full wedge, so playing four wedges is essentially a must for me.

You can have 'em. The Masters on the weekend is a pain in the ass unless you're ok with just standing in one place for a long time.

Sounds terrible. I'm going to withdraw my tournament rounds lottery application right now. I'd rather never get to go ever.

You would probably enjoy a practice round more unless like GA said you wanna camp in one spot. I sign up for everything regardless.

Anytime either of you would like to give me the choice of going to a practice round over a tournament round just speak up. Until then, I'll take whatever I can get over never having been and/or never getting to go.

I've tried a lot of different wedges and decided last year to eliminate a few. All I'm carrying this year are the two (PW and SW) that came with my Callaways and my Ping 54 degree.

Your Callaway PW is 44* & the SW is 54*. 10* difference is equal to 2 clubs. Consider a 50* gap or approach wedge to fill this void. That Ping 54* is the same as your Callaway SW.

I never said I didnt sign up for everything. :)

Thanks, I appreciate it. My plan is to eliminate the need for wedges, or maybe carry a couple. Know it won't work 100% of the time, but I'm trying.

The thing is you wanna gap the lofts appropriately so you at least have an idea of your full shot distance. No need in carrying two wedges with exact lofts that hit the same distance. Not sure you can eliminate wedges or why you would want to. Most people carry at least 3 or 4 wedges that have about a 4-6 degree gap between them.

I understand that. And, I have plenty of wedges, believe me. I'm trying to decide between the Ping and Callaway wedge of the same loft. I'm leaning towards the Ping for now. My game plan for now is to get on the green or close enough to chip. If I only carry a couple of wedges, I will drive myself towards that end.

Going to try and get out tomorrow if the rain holds off. Haven't played in probably a year. Going to be really rusty
