The Golf Thread

I've never done it. Can you actually get a regroved wedge to perform like a new one? By the time I've worn grooves out, I just buy a new wedge every 2-3 years.

Not sure... That's why I was asking. I know you can do it w irons and be fine

Just picked up a new wedge. I have an older trusty rusty but just got a new model on eBay in satin finish. $41

Think about how completely nuts that is. It would be like Jerry Markbreit calling the NFL at halftime of the Superbowl and saying that he saw holding in the Endzone so they should award a team with two points.

The other problem is that guys like Tiger are under more scrutiny since they're on TV more. It's an uneven standard.

I know no one likes the idea, but I find it even more surprising that a former rules official called it in. Can't help but wonder if he has some sort of bias against Tiger to go to such a length to make sure the ruling got called.

My blocks off the tee have been awful recently. Depressing.

I haven't had my hands through a shot in 3 rounds and have been holding it off for whatever reason. Very frustrating when you know what you are doing but can't fix it because its in my head. Recently, I've tried to force them over which has made it worse.

Have you ever had vokeys?

I heart Vokeys. I've got a 50* gap, a 56* SW and a 60* LW. I recently gave in and became one of those guys that carries 4 wedges. I can't tell you how much easier it's made my life; especially from about 90 yards in.

I don't know how people don't play w 4 wedges.

Hit a 56 125 yards yesterday. Had a flier lie and wind behind me but I still absolutely crushed it.

My iron distance is pretty crazy.

I've tried a lot of different wedges and decided last year to eliminate a few. All I'm carrying this year are the two (PW and SW) that came with my Callaways and my Ping 54 degree. I'm concentrating more on game management. For me, instead of going for the green from 220 or so out (which I won't hit more than 30% of the time), I'll hit something that will leave me around 90-100 yards off the green, which I'll hit about 95% of the time. I've come to know my limitations and playing that way. People I'm playing have laughed but I'll hole out before they do.

Maybe trade one wedge for another because I imagine the callaway sw is pretty close to 54*

I bought a set of the RAZR X HL Irons last fall. Like them so far. Just getting used to the difference in yardage from the old Pings. I don't like the grips so I need to have that changed soon. Honestly, never thought I'd own Callaways, but I like them.
