Clubs should be adjusted to your setup & swing styles. TM markets the off the rack 47 drivers as longer means further. It does if you can control it. No way a shorter golfer can swing a club that long without altering the swing. At 6 1, I play a 7.5* driver at 43.5. I am never ob off the box & no loss in distance because it fits my swing. Cut yours down & give it a chance. Youll gain control immediately & if there is a distance loss, itll come back if you play or practice enoughI get what you're saying but I used to have a g15 that was 45". Since I've had the burner I've seen a rather large gain in distance but a huge drop in accuracy and consistency. That inch and a half may not sound like much but I really do feel like it has altered my swing with the Burner.
And I've got a lesson scheduled for next week so hopefully I can get my swing fixed with the new driver.

Calm down Ledbetter. I just explained what I meant.
Lol. Well your spine angle adjusts to accommodate the length of the cub as well. My main point is cutting an inch off of a driver isn't gonna make a world of difference. Your setup & swing adjust to the club no matter what length it is & if your misses are that bad it's not the club.
You'd be surprised though what different length shafts can do for you as far as impact goes. I'm well under 6' tall and at my last fitting, the impact tape had everything trending toward the toe. We added an inch onto the shaft and it was like night and day.
So you added length to a pretty much standard length driver in order to dial it in as oppose to make it shorter? I guess whatever works but I'd say even with shots toward the toe on a driver that it would have still been playable. I think the guy who had the question just needs to get fit &/or have his swing looked at.
