The Golf Thread

Bought my last set off ebay.

Best & cheapest way to get balls too

The thing is there are a lot of counterfeiters & they are good at what they do. The seller I'm looking at seems legit. I've researched as much as I can & they seem to be good to go by what others have said. Apparently they sometimes have things shipped from another reputable eBay golf store, Dallas golf. A $700 set of clubs going for $470 just raises a few questions.

a little odd that no one else is reporting that about Rory and your link doesn't even go into any real details.

Check their feedback and email them with any questions.

at least it's easier to get the ball to stop.

and seriously, who punches their greens in the middle of summer?

lot of folks have an early summer punch or verticut.

I don't think it's easier to stop an approach on the punched greens.

I hit a 8.5 and get back spin on my driver. It's very frustrating. I've tried changing shafts too. Starting to think it is a me problem.

I'm 6'4". I know your pain. I hit the ball really, really high myself. The best thing I've found to get control of my ball flight was moving into an X shaft with a high kick point. After research and trying some demos, I settled in with a Diamana Whiteboard Flowerband (Older version of the new shaft Ahina). It dramatically improved my flight. I'm playing a Titleist 910 8.5 degree driver but I've got it tuned down to 7.75 (it's adjustable). With the distance you say you're hitting it, your swing speed has to be 110+ MPH. You should be playing an X shaft IMHO.

Here are the specs on the shaft I'm playing, if you are interested.
MITSUBISHI RAYON / GRAPHITE SHAFTS | Diamana™ D-Series

tempo dictates shaft frequency needs more than swing speed in the hitting zone does.

A good tradeoff for many stronger players is the TS, which gives best of both worlds.

I hit a 317 yard job yesterday. Of course it's a drought around these parts. Not quite bama distance.

Honestly, I've never really known how far I hit my driver. Should probably pay more attention. I know my irons distances, but couldn't tell you how far I hit my driver.

That's bamas 5 iron.

True. Everyone's different. It's working for me. He just needs to get fitted. :hi:

exactly. Hard to dispense decent shaft advice without seeing the swing and watching the measurables on the meter.

That said, what I do know is that the 65g stock shafts, even with high end brand labels, suck.
