how is that crazy. If you are hitting those distances with one of those being an always in the fairway swing and making 10 footers, how on earth do you not break 80?

It's not even debatable. He said he was a bad lag putter, but who cares when you are cash from ten feet and in.

We should do a match play tourney. Schedule it like a year in advance. Bama has to play his tee shots from the previous holes tee box to give us a chance.

I didn't say I was a bad lag putter. Crosshanded is more difficult.

I think 85 and better is a good score. Esp when played by the rules.

It's all relative. For some, 85 is a great day. For some, it's grounds for giving up the game.

Nope. I think a lot of people think that hitting 300 is impossible, because the can't. I hit the ball over 300 quite often. More often than not 290. Only an elite few have a keep it in play swing that goes 300 though. :hi:

The elite few will just take less club & still put it close to 300.

You hit the ball over 300 "quite often" but only an "elite few" can do it?

I said my drives are 315-318 and you said something around 330 at first (but have now back tracked) and I'm an "elite few"?

Even if you're at 290 and I'm at 315, 25 yards is really so extraordinary that's its not possible, even though you do it "quite often"?

I love how you chose portions of statements I have made to try to have a point. It is very entertaining.

So I was playing this weekend in a scramble and we came up to. 325 yard par 4 playing with the wind. A big
Bunker in the right side of fairway and if u drove it over u could hit down a slope and roll pretty far. So I hit a drive thought it may carry and hit the lip and came back . My buddy just got the rocketballs tour so reloaded for fun and cleared the bunker and ended up about ten yards short of green . Made me want to get it, but I'm sure it was mostly luck.

Please provide the portions that I missed.

I said only an elite few have a "keep it in play" swing that goes 300. Not an elite few hit it 300. I also said when I try to "flatten my swing",my natural swing is a high draw, I tend to slice it. You turn that into my natural swing is a slice now. You are trying way to hard to have a clue. Just stop.

Ive never had my swing speed measured, but I am a fairly long hitter. I average 320-330 and when I get after it can hit it 350-360. Of course I'm 6'5 and 280 so I have a lot behind the ball. One of our members here, SolidRockGolf, designs shafts for long drive guys and he said he could get me into a starter setup for competitions. Thinking about doing it. The rest of my golf game is hopeless so I might as well.

These numbers are higher than mine. Please explain why you can "get after it" to 350+ but is not possible for anyone else to hit it 10-15 yards shorter when they "get after it."

I quoted the entire post, even though solidrock sells garbage driver heads, didn't want to miss a portion.

Where have I said it is impossible for anyone to get after it and hit iit 330? I don't care how far you hit it. I hit it very inconsistently. I have hit drives this year at 350 and at 280. The 350 was in a scramble swinging out of my shoes. Some rounds I hit the ball a lot further than others. I don't play enough to be consistent at it. In fact the more I play the more trouble I have with my back.

I can. I have 2 swings, a keep-it-in-play swing, which is about 315-318 or my best-ball tournament drive which is about 340-345. I keep my normal drive in the short grass about 50% and in play about 80%. My long drive attempts prob see short grass about 25% and in play about 50%.

What about your other clubs for reference? Me...

PW - 165
7 - 190
5 - 210
3wd - 280

I don't play anything higher than a 5 iron. No hybrids. I traded a 4 iron for a Gap wedge this season.

I play every course from the tips. My handicap says I should move forward, but I don't. I'm not playing very well this season. Not sure why. I've played 11 rounds since March, hopefully my game will come back to me.

Thought I'd quote it again.

You are confused. People have issues with your "keep it in play swing at 315". Nothing else. As I said, I could care less. I care more about getting my score lower and more consistent.

My keep it in play drive is in play about 80% of the time, the other 20% are penalty strokes. (except at Lambert, everything is in play) How could someone have an issue with that? How is that unreasonable?
