The Golf Thread

I carry Driver, 3 wood, 5 iron - PW, the rest wedges and putter.

My Achilles heel at the moment is the 40-70 yard approach.

Then put away the driver, stop talking about and spend the next 2 years on the pitching range. Then, you'll no longer give a crap about how long people hit it and you can laugh at those boasting.

Seriously . . . Being able to pull a wedge from 160 in seems a lot more valuable than being able to kill the Driver.

I'll put up $200 to the winner of a bamac v whomever golf match

and I will go and give the play by play on VN so there are no differing stories after the match

"Bye honey. I'm meeting a guy from the Internet 100 miles away for a long drive competition. My life insurance policy is in the top dresser drawer."

...I know it sounds crazy, but dude says he can hit it 315 in the gut off the bottom groove."

why be long if you can't play a lick from 70 and in? Seems best served to scale it back and hit the sawed off 6 iron out there about 252, with roll.

I'm a single guy stuck in fayettenam, NC. If someone wants to meet me out here to play, I'm always game. Be advised I might shoot 79, I might shoot 95 or anything in between.

I play for fun. Not trying to make money at it. I'm a gamble golfer, I try to cut every dog leg and go for every green. I find the game a lot more enjoyable from being aggressive. My score generally indicates it.

I heard "I suck, I have an excuse so I'm OK with it."

I think we should do a VN match play type deal. See who can really play and who can't. Winner from each city meets in the finals. Handicaps are used.

I'm in Nashville. Westhaven is $50 in june on tuesdays-thursdays. Who shall face me in match 1? I am a 9 handicap.

This won't happen, but it would be pretty funny to see the chit talking on here afterwards if it did.

find the HO, and Lawgator golf thread where they played a round and posted during it
One of the bext threads ever

Compared to anyone shooting consistent 75s an under, I suck. I can get my handicap back to single digits though. Prob take till next season, I've posted too many high rounds this year.

who cares what the number is. Can you get a 3 when you need to and that's the bottom line.

Dead serious. It's legal. Great club. I regripped it though, it comes with a reverse taper grip.

don't care about legality. Sounds absurd and an admission of defeat.

If you hit the ball the way you say, and that's a huge if, you should be able to do what you want with wedges, which are about solid contact and face angle. I don't know how someone who can control a club well enough to make his knock down driver a 315 yd fairway missile but can't make wedges work. Makes no sense whatsoever.
