When I worked in a pro shop in grad school, our store pro might hit ten balls a week and play three times a year. I worked there 16 months. He shot a 69, 73 and 76 on the times I remember him playing. A buddy of mine in high school plays maybe twice a month and considers anything over 80 a nightmare. he also never goes to the range.

Length only comes into it when talking about doglegs or strange carries. Nobody gives a crap about the numbers until they're holding short to mid irons.

Hacker is someone who's never played competitive golf, enjoys the game, mostly self-taught, and plays occasionally. Imo.

Im a weekend hacker and my driving distance average is better than everyone on the PGA tour.

I think we should do a VN match play type deal. See who can really play and who can't. Winner from each city meets in the finals. Handicaps are used.

I'm in Nashville. Westhaven is $50 in june on tuesdays-thursdays. Who shall face me in match 1? I am a 9 handicap.

This won't happen, but it would be pretty funny to see the chit talking on here afterwards if it did.

if people can find life partners on forums they can surely find a friendly wagered golf game. I get tired of playing with the same guys anyway. Sometimes, I'll go play by myself at the same time as the asians because I enjoy the sound effects they make as my ball rolls towards the cup. I feel like I have a gallery. And I don't have to talk about business, or divorce, or whatever for 4 hrs.
