No I haven't. Open invitation to a wager. Why don't you be a big boy and show up.

because I've been on a field training exercise out in the field for the past ten days? Because if I just randomly show up in Knoxville during the week I'm considered AWOL and will go to jail? Doozer put forth the challenge, you didn't show.

No he didn't.

I'm going to get with a local guy here. He is a member here on VN. Designs shafts for LD. I saw a guy hit one over 450 on tv the other day. I am curious how much of that was him and how much was the club.

About 325 of it was the guy, 50 of it was the club and 75 of it was either altitude, wind or a very dry landing area.

I'm envisioning something along the lines of the "Who can hit a 7 iron the farthest?" scene from Tin Cup.

It's not about who can hit it the farthest, its about making claims that you're not willing to back up. Claiming routine scores in the 70s is much more unbelievable than hitting a driver 300+.

You're nuts. I know lots of amateurs and weekend hackers who not only routinely shoot in the 70s, but low 70s at that. A 78 is an awful day for them. I know no amateur or weekend hacker who hits a "keep it in play drive" 315 yards. Can't even really think of many pros that do unless they're in Hawaii.

do what? Go to any decent club and there will be someone there who can list for you the low single digit and lower handicaps. If you ask him to be honest, that list will have quite a few on it. The number than can toe hook it to 315 in the pipe will be 0.

Not coincidentally, most of those low handicappers will play together a lot and in their group wont be any guys slinging a heeled cut out there 315 yards so they can hit knockdown 9s to the par 5s.

Figures. Internet tough guy pounding keyboards in his parents house.

I'm not the one making claims I'm too afraid to back up. I set the time and the place, per your request. You didn't show up. Not sure what else you want, unless it's to stop being ridiculed, which won't happen. Of course, you realize it would stop had you shown up.

Oh well.

You're proving more and more that you're the one that's nuts. No way a weekend hacker is going to routinely shoot in the low 70s. Unless you think the rule book is really just a book of nice suggestions.

I know lots of amateurs that also routinely shoot in the low 70s, but they're not weekend hackers.

When you're done with your obstacle course name the course, name the prize, and we'll, see.

semantics isn't helping your argument. There are a lot more guys shooting low 70s than hitting controlled cuts to 315.

You're more ignorant than utgibbs. I love your make believe story. What was the wager? I owe it to you for not showing up. Could you post the agreement for all of our benefit?

Thinking of all the guys you play with . . . Do any of them talk about how long anybody shooting 80+ can hit it?
