I'm always hesitant to do the "if he keeps this up he'll go down as one of the all-time greats" thing because sports are unpredictable, but he does seem to have the mental make-up for this. The run he's been on since 2022 and particularly his 2024 and 2025 seasons are one of the best 3-4 year runs in the history of golf. In just the 16 majors, he has 4 wins and 12 top 10s. Just one MC.Scottie is pretty incredible. Some dominant wins this year. Would be really cool to see him keep this up for a few years and etch his name up there with woods and Nicklaus. Seems to have his head on straight too.
Koepka had a pretty nice run too.I'm always hesitant to do the "if he keeps this up he'll go down as one of the all-time greats" thing because sports are unpredictable, but he does seem to have the mental make-up for this. Rory was in this same position in 2014 (had 4 majors, was the best player in the game, and was actually younger than Scottie at 25) and then didn't win another major for 11 years. I don't think he's as mentally tough as Scottie and had a lot of personal distractions though.
He has one of the most underrated resumes in the sport, probably because he's so unlikable. It looked like initially the move to LIV wasn't going to hurt him competitively because he won the 2023 PGA soon after joining, but he's withered on the vine since then.Koepka had a pretty nice run too.
