Has anyone played the Cobra Amps? I was looking through my Groupon app and saw they had a deal for an graphite iron set 4-GW 45% off for a total of $399.

I have a set of Adams from high school that have seen their better days.

Thanks for help

I have last years model. Love them.

Have played the Cobra Pro CB which are forged like the amps. Do you need the graphite shafts?

Those look just like the ones in Groupon. I bet the ones I'm looking at are last years model as well

There's really no difference in last year's & this year's other than aesthetics. The badge in the cavity is a little different & comes in more colors this year & the grip is black.

You can probably get a set cheaper than that on eBay with steel shafts.

Ok. I'll take a look.

While I'm at it. What's the difference in flex?

Flexes are soft - stiff - stiffer. Based on how hard & or how fast a player swings.

I don't think the irons in the picture are forged. Don't see any Amp irons on Cobra's site that aren't forged for this years model

Mine aren't forged. This years isn't forged either. This years version is called the AMP Cell.

I'm guessing soft for slower swings and stiff for faster? What's the most common?

Was very coose to getting them when i upgraded my iron. Really liked them but the ap2's won. I think cobra is probably the most underrated golf brand going right now. They make some really good stuff

I'm starting to look at other Cobra stuff. Looking specifically at the clubs designed to help get higher launch and a butt load of forgiveness.

Along with my cobra amp irons I have a 59* trusty rusty wedge, 19* amp hybrid, & a baffler t-rail 16* 3wood. Love the wedge, very versatile underrated club. Love the 3 wood, hits it high & long & easy off the deck. Not a fan of the hybrid, head looks nice but its a hook monster & that's usually what I fight. Looking to replace the amp hybrid with maybe a baffler t-rail hybrid or something else.

I just need a few lessons to get me going again. As soon as I nail done my first teaching job, that's what's I'm going after.

Lessons & practice help but unless you have a ton of time to invest in one or both get a club that's gonna help you be able to play & enjoy yourself. I've went from one extreme to the other back & forth a few times. Had some king cobras & played some good golf. Got the big head & ditched those for some titleist 990s. Played some of my best golf with them but got to where I wasn't playing much & went back to something forgiving. Got big berthas & played some good golf with them but the clubs were huge & hit the ball waaaaay too high. Got amps & it seems its a good combination of playability & forgiveness in a club that isn't huge & sets up nice. Most of my practice is chipping around the house or in the yard & hit the driving range on occasion.

I have no ability for playability. I can't produce a fade or draw on command. I just need a club that will allow me to stay within 2-5 yards of the fairway most of the time. I can recover pretty well and my short game and putting are my strengths.

Heck, I played 9 about 3 weeks ago. First time in over a year. Outside of playing two balls on the first hole, I had a 41. I know I can do it. It's just a matter of playing consistent and being able to keep the mistakes to a minimum.

But you're right. In high school I was playing everyday. I'm now lucky to play even twice a year it seems. Money, money, money
