The Golf Thread

I play quite a few. Haven't played in Anderson much. Played Cobbs Genn a few years ago. Normally I play at Greer CC, River Falls (right near my house), Village Greens, Willow Creek, Woodfin Ridge, Bonnie Brae, Lakeview, Cherokee Valley, & probably a few more. All of these are in Greenville & Spartanburg co

I hate cobbs glen ha. Have you ever played thornblade or verdae?

I'll give it to you that you're consistent in your hatred of all things tiger.

It's not Tiger necessarily. It's that according to the Golf Channel/ESPN/Yahoo Sports/Fox Sports, Tiger is the only golfer in the entire universe (and occasionally Rory comes into our universe to play him). It's ridiculous. There are 10 players within 4 strokes going into today including Kuchar, Rose, Scott, Schwartzel and Haas. This has the makings of a phenomenal finish, but I haven't seen one article about that, I only see the Tiger is struggling.

throw in the fact that vol in ar keeps showing us the lovebirds Lindsay and Tigers personal lives in Tiger's thread and kinda scaring me that he's such a creeper, it is just too much for me to handle.

It's called a business and Tiger sells. I don't understand why it's hard to understand.

And a lot of the guys you mentioned are pretty boring.

Their golf games aren't. Viewership in the game thrived as long as there were contenders. The PGA pretends to sell the young guns, but then lets them fall off the face of the world as soon as they can talk about Tiger, good, bad or indifferent. Bubba sells, Ricky sells, Kuchar could sell given the chance, Sneds could sell given the chance, but the PGA doesn't try.

Bubba sells. Ricky sells because he's super young. Snedeker and Kuchar are milquetoast.

& compared to tiger they hardly ever win.

Can't argue that either. And I really like Kuchar and the way he plays. He's just not a real marketable personality unless he starts winning 3 times a year and contending in majors.

He reminds me a lot of the way Jim Furyk and Paul Azinger were perceived for years.

Speaking of Kuchar .... how cool is it to win a golf tournament in front of your kids who turn and high five Jack Nicklaus.

That was cool. I like Kuchar. He seems like a genuine guy. Seems like he had more hair when he took his cap off today too lol.

Why watch every 6 inch putt by Tiger when there are others on the course playing good golf? I'd rather watch him fall in the pond.
