The Golf Thread

Regripped my G wedge to try it out. I don't wear a glove on chips or putts so I switched. Prob will switch my other wedges also.

My 2 year old got in my bag a while back and took my glove out without me knowing. I tried to play the whole round with sweaty palms, it wasn't fun. Now that I have these grips I feel that it wouldn't matter If I didn't have a glove. I love the larger size too, very good feel.

Wife gave me permission to join the local club. $75 initiation fee and only $40 a month.

Need a lesson badly before I drop that much but I'll be stoked to be able to play every day

what a deal...the course I'm moving from in Chicago had two options:

1) equity member $40,000 initiaon payable over 4 years
2) non-equity- $25,000 iniation payable over 10 years
$600 a month dues, $100 a month locker fee, and $20 dollars a round for a cart

hopefully the one I move on to in Arkansas
1) $5,000 initiaon fee, but transferable for $200 bucks from the previous home owner
$325 monthly fee, $100 a year locker fee, and $12 dollar a round for a cart

Not the greatest course by any means but when you're newly married and still in college, I'll take it. That covers a family up to 4 so I'm hoping the wife wants to pick up the game with me (don't go there...)

94 today. :banghead2:

Playing once or so a week without practice in between is killing me around the greens. Guess I need to play more.... darn. lol

Everything I've heard about them has been good. I was shopping for one but came across an r11 and jumped on it.

Ok, great. Yeah, I've been reading some reviews and out of over 20 something reviews I read there was only 2negative ones. It's supposed to add 17 yards to whatever your current 3 wood is. That is awesome! It's regular 229.99 but I'm getting it new for 175.00. Can't wait to use it. Thank you for your reply.

If I'm going to drop half a grand over the next year I need to start working out again.

Besides the back, shoulders, and legs, what are other muscles you guys target when working out?

Anyone have a routine/plan they'd recommend?

Thanks

I don't do anything specific for golf, but core exercises and back and shoulders are great for golf. Just make sure you continue to swing while you're working out. If you see a huge increase in muscle mass it can really screw up your swing.

I prefer to maintain my out of shape status so I can then go out and shoot par and be an inspiration to obeese people everywhere. It's sort of my way of giving back to society.

I will say since I have worked out I have gained about ten yards per club.

I'm sure it would benefit me as well. A couple of weeks ago when I was on a launch monitor, my swing specs measured the same as Charles Howell III. To which the pro accurately responded, "that's amazing since you look like you just ate Charles Howell III."

At 39, I'm about 30 lbs heavier and half a club longer than I ever was when I played in college.

That's hilarious he said that.

I get to play in a tourney today at mission viejo country club.

It's where beau hossler is a member.

Tough course should be fun.
