If you say so.

When people don't agree with your view, they're idiots. I'm simply pointing out that's a stupid way to argue you your point. So Obama says to John McCain "You're an idiot if you think that". Nice... very intelligent argument. You come off as a jerk and I'll just leave it at that.

Maybe you need to look in the mirror and try and dispute the fact first. The NCAA would give UT an enema like you wouldn't believe if UT hired him back. Only an uninformed idiot would truly want him back or they want to see UT go on major probation. I guess you want that.

There are a lot of people that are tired with the "BRING BACK PEARL!!!" mantra on here. It's gotten beyond pathetic. He's not coming back. Remember the good times and let it go for God's sakes. He's gone and he isn't coming back.

Not saying we should hire pearl but the reason we don't shouldn't be bc we are afraid of the NCAA

Well if you can point me to a school that has rehired a coach that has been given a show cause and worked it well for the school then I would consider it. I don't want to be a guinea pig to the NCAA. They have proven time and time again that they will rule as they see fit without much regard to being fair. I don't want to walk that slippery slope. Pearl isn't worth that much of a risk in my opinion and I like UT too much to risk the bad publicity and the unrelenting nature of the NCAA staying on campus 24/7.

The point is they rule without reason so why care what they think........there hasn't been a really desirable candidate for.rehire besides sampson and who knows if he is just happy in the NBA.

Until there is another governing body then it's going to be that way. Again, we don't want to have the NCAA on our campus. They'll look to find things and will find other things. Every school bends the rules. We've had enough bad publicity. It's time we have something positive happen for the university. Rehiring Pearl does not mean that he or UT will have the same success anyway. That's a misconception that the Pearl lovers tend to forget.

If we rehired someone that they essentially dismissed for lying to them, they would destroy our program, with reason.

How do u know that? Grow a pair and don't be scared.....they looked and looked last time and found no major violations.

And yet he still got fired, right?

The next time he committed a minor violation, which he would, they would come down hard on us. And they should, since we'd be spitting in their faces by hiring him.

The people that need to grow a pair are the ones that think we can't be successful with anyone but Pearl.

We wouldnt be spitting in their face....He lied they gave him the punishment that they felt he deserved.....He lost his job and was basically suspended for three yrs....If they deem him eligible to coach and he has jumped through all their hoops....He should be able to be hired by us or anyone else....IF they didnt want that, they should have given him a lifetime ban.

As for punishing us over minor violations, with all the negativity and threats of schools leaving the NCAA.....we definitely need to allow them to try and punish us differently over a secondary violation and I honestly dont think the NCAA will

Exactly. The NCAA has to be absent malice in handing down their decisions and if they are not then it is actionable at law. These guys hated Pearl before he was fired and it will never change.

So you're advocating that we should threaten to leave both the SEC and the NCAA as a whole, just so we can get Bruce Pearl back.

Brilliant.

If they punish him more harshly as a repeat offender, there's nothing malicious about it.

No I stated that several college teams had threatened to leave the NCAA and start a different organization but no we shouldnt allow the NCAA to bully us unjustly.....Once we do, we will always be their b*tch

Everybody in college basketball is a repeat offender of secondary violations so they would have to punish them all.

You're not going to win any court cases saying that the NCAA is being unfair by treating a proven liar more harshly than a mostly clean coach.

So your suggestion is to hire him, and if he gets us in trouble all over again, to just refuse whatever penalties we get? Sounds like a plan.

Either way, this is a moot point because Dave Hart isn't going to bet his job that a proven liar will suddenly stop lying.

He has never committed a major violation, I trust he wont lie about a secondary one this time.
