It looks like Syracuse is the only "major" school that has offered him and a little digging shows he was suspended for some reason at the start of the season.

To his credit, he's a gunslinger's gunslinger which would be fun to watch but 5'11" in the SEC is tough unless you're Bryce Young gifted.
I'm a WCU transfer student (starting my spring sophomore semester at UT next week so woo!) What I heard about his suspension was that he used ChatGPT on a paper which led to said suspension. I didn't go to a single Western game (I could honestly care less about Western football even though I'm from Sylva, NC) but, the numbers speak for themselves. The SoCon has zero defense but it was mighty impressive to see that he could put that up at Western of all places

So a ho-hum suspension from a pearl clutching standpoint, which is good.

His numbers are impressive but SoCon competition, as you note, isn't really that good. Still, Coach Heupel probably already knows what's up and not up about him.

Welcome to the promised land! Enjoy every single minute of it.

He does not have the arm strength to play in the SEC. Watch his highlights. Looks like a HS QB.
I'm gonna say that arm strength argument is silly, dude's stats alone should get him in TN orange. He's basically the same size as Pavia and I don't remember Pavia chunking it 80 yards.

i spent some time looking at this kid last night. im by no means a great talent spotter. but this kid has won and been successful at every level. playing high school football in miami is no joke. and he played as a freshman. dont judge this kids heart by his stature. i would not be upset at this point paying him to come in and compete for the job. he is smart and accurate with the ball. if the deep ball isnt there then design routes that he is strong at. and let his feet work for us in the run pass option.

Volnation experts:

Gmac- 6’6 195. He’s too small! He’s been in the system for almost 2 seasons and hasn’t gained any weight so Heupel has no clue how develop QBs. He should be fired

Taron Dickens- 5’11 180. He’s perfect! If Heupel doesn’t go get him then he doesn’t know what he’s doing. Him & Danny White both need to be fired IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!

How tall do you think Pavia and Chambliss are? Both are listed at 6 ft, but neither are probably that tall. Height certainly matters, as he's likely going to get balls batted down at the line, but someone that can sling it around is still important.

We can’t be too picky at this point. He’ll just grab him to show you’re trying to field a well rounded QB room given you know your seat is about to get warm this fall
